This is 2 families going together:
We have a 5 night reservation beginning Sunday, January 16th at Bay Lake Tower Grand Villa. We all actually arrive Saturday (15th) afternoon. Saturday was originally "each family stay where they want ". Now we are sharing an Old Key West Resort Grand Villa for Saturday the 15th.
My plan is:

Saturday the 15th.
- check in to OKW.

Sunday the 16th.
- have bags sent to BLT
- check out of OKW
- take bus to BLT
- check in at BLT and receive keys.
- hopefully see room
- have park hoppers put on room keys
- take monorail to MK and enjoy the Kingdom until 1:00am.

Will advance online check-in help with this?
I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet.

Don't plan to get into your room in the morning. You will likely be homeless until at least 4 unless there are unreserved GVs. If there are GVs available, you might be in luck. FYI, I'm going to be very interested in hearing your reactions to the differences in the 2 GVs. I hope you get the master in both, because there is a HUGE difference in the masters INHO.

We tried out the GrandVilla at SSR in August 2009 so that's what's in our minds.
We are 2 families: 4 adults & 6 kids.
We decided that the 4 adults will take the 2 upstairs bedrooms.
Downstairs: the 3 girls get the master bedroom Sun, Mon, Tue & the 3 boys get it Wed, Thurs, Fri.
This should be interesting.

NO! The couple who owns gets the master....don't waste it on kids! Once you see an OKW GV master, you'll understand what I mean. I'd put one adult couple in the room with 2 queens and let them decide which kids they get with them. Then the other kids get the room with 2 double beds.
An easy way to do it would be to put your family on the first level and the other family on the second level if that works for number of people and beds.

Another agreement with Diane. Never, never, never give the kids the master bedroom. You will ruin them. Whoever pays the bills, get the master.

I agree. No way will the kids get the master when I own the points. Please reconsider your plan.

Unless I am near the point that children/grandchildren will be choosing my nursing home, I will be in the master.

I agree on the owner getting the master! :rolleyes1 I have stayed in GV's at OKW and SSR and wouldn't trade it for the world! Both have awesome master suites with lots of room! Enjoy!!

You're going to put 3 kids in one bed? Even if it is a king, it belongs to you, the master! The kids get the secondary bedroom, which has two beds and the pull out sofa and sleep chair in the living room. They are very lucky they are staying at Disney and in a GV, they don't need the master too!

Plus, the kids might sleep better if they are spread out alittle.

Ignoring the who sleep where question...

There is no bus to BLT from OKW. You would take the bus to the MK, then walk/monorail over to the CR to check in. But I wouldn't bother. Just head to the MK and enjoy your day. At some point when you need a break, you can go try and check in.

I would not recommend the part about taking the busses from OKW to BLT. That is going to take a huge chunk of time as there are no direct busses between resorts. So send maybe the one adult over in a cab to check in and send the others off to the parks to enjoy the day.

Personnally, I would go park touring myself and check in later in the day also. When we stayed at BLT, I found it a very easy walk over. The monorail is much longer since it will take you through all the other stops before arriving at the MK. Even with my health issues and bad knees I made the walk no problem!

Lastly, I gotta agree with the owners taking the Master Bedroom. Gotta have some perk since we are laying out the cash, LOL! :)
