Just wondering, as I'm thinking of planning a trip about this time next year. Does everything shut down there in case of snow or freezing temperatures? I'd hate to get all the way over there and then sit in my room for four days looking at snow. Thanks everyone!!

The reason things shut down is that we don't get snow very often. I live 15 miles away from London - we had one day of snow and even that had mostly gone before bedtime. It's raining at the moment.

We don't deal with snow at all well in this country - but it's very rare that it lasts for longer than a day! It's also really sporadic, so it may only snow once or twice each winter. I don't think it would cause any problems for you.

As for the temperature, it really varies from slightly chilly - maybe mid 40's, to freezing, but temperatures in the day time rarely fall as low as that in London.

Hope that helps a little!

Are you sure you really want to come here in February?? Wish I wasn't here!
