HOT!

dont worry, its not the heat that will kill you its the humidity.

Oh btw... did i mention its HUMID!!!!! LOL

LOL!

Seriously, don't take aengus' humor lightly.... It really is hot, and it really is humid. My wife grew up in Florida and live there for over 30 years. Ask her if she ever got used to it and she'll tell you, "Sure! I learned to stay in air conditioning all day for a couple of months each year!"

There are also thunderstorms most every afternoon.

The good news is that everything dries up within a short while after the thunderstorms, and half the time, you actually get an hour or so respite from the humidity.

The humidity is what I am not used to . It is usually hotter temperature in Oklahoma. I am trying to decide whether to teach summer school and wait until August to go to Florida or go to Florida in early June. Summer is the only time we can go.

Early June versus August? Uh, early June -- but only because there are fewer hurricanes. The heat and humidity will be impressive both times. I remember getting sunburn on the top of my head in June one year (and no, I wasn't near bald).

The heat combined with the humidity is called the "heat index". A 90 degree day coupled with 90% humidity will make it feel like 110 degrees.

HOT. I personally wouldn't go camping. If you can escape in the air conditioning when ever you need to - it is fine, but camping? Not sure what setup you are going to have, but I would definitely make sure you can get in air conditioning whenever you over heat.

I went last August and was fine as long as I was near a place with AC.

HOT AS HECK!!!!!!!

We went back in 2000 July and both my MIL and I got heat exhaustion. It was awful and we live in south GA and are in high humidity all the time.

The Thunderstorms were awful also. There was alot of damage that year with lots of tree damage.

However.......if you are there for the 4th of July the campground has a cute little parade.

We've done July twice and August once. We did July 1992 in a tent. The heat and humidity was unbearable and there was no where to go to get out of it. We were there for a week and it only rained on night for about 20 minutes. August 2003 was very wet. It was hot, but it rained for most of the two weeks that we were there. We had a TT so it wasn't a wash out for us, but it would have been had we been tenting. We had to walk through puddles that were several inches deep just to get to the bath houses. Our site was often under up to a couple of inches of water. There was a hurricane off the coast during this time. July 2004 again in TT. We got a mixed bag of very hot weather and rain showers. Overall It wasn't too bad. We were prepared for anything at that point. Between the heat, humidity, rain and hurricanes you never know what you'll get. Fw is wonderful in November, nice temps not so much rain and no hurricanes.

I did the tent thing years and years ago in July. Never again! It is hot, hot, hot, not to mention humid. I was born and raised in central Georgia so I'm no stranger to heat and humidity, but I won't do that again. We now have a motorhome. We usually go to WDW in June. It's still hot and humid, but we go the parks in the morning and leave the parks between 1:00 and 2:00 when the heat begins to get unbearable and retreat to comfort of our AC. We return to the parks when it begins to cool off a little around 6:00.

Early June is a MUCH better bet. July and August are the WORST. June tends to be a few degrees cooler, but I honestly wouldn't camp in FL this time of year unless you have a TT. Tent camping is too hot.

Have Tent camped at FW in aug. fist night suck i went to homedepot and got a cheep window A/C then put in so it would blow in the tent the rest of the week was great. Every after noon about 3 it will rain so count on that. have fun...

We went in August 2 years ago. Our first purchase was rain ponchos. It rained and rained and rained. When it wasn't raining it was hot and humid. We went to Epcot one day and left by 1:00 because nobody could stand it. We did however, opt for a cabin that trip, so we did have air conditioning to go to.

HOT and Humid!

It is only the beginning of June and it is already squelching hot and the humidity is horrible. My kids won't even go outside right now during the day and we have a pool in the back yard. And it only gets worse as summer goes on.
