Hi everyone! Going to Southern California in May for a convention and I'd thought I'd stop at Disneyland for a few days. :cool1:

I am thinking about staying at The Park Vue hotel- $79/night with breakfast. My other choices are Best Western Anaheim Inn for $80, Castle Inn for $78 or Anaheim Plaza for $72. (None include breakfast). It is just me and all I look for is a clean room right across from the Disneyland entrance.

How close are these hotels to the entrance? What do you think? :confused3

Consider Best Western Park Place Inn. It is next door to Park Vue, and the closest hotel to the DLR entrance on Harbor. It is consistently rated higher on DLR Internet forums than Park Vue, and the cost is usually comparable. We stayed there in August and will be staying again in two weeks.

Check out this link. http://www.geocities.com/ashpsyche/DisneylandLinkMap.html

The map in the link is not to scale, as the cross walk is actually in front of Captain Kidd's and maybe 10-20 feet from BWPPI entrance.

We stayed at the Park Vue in August when we were there a couple of years ago. It was VERY close to the park entrance. You can walk right to the Harbor Blvd Crosswalk from the lobby.

That being said - I would NEVER stay there again. The Breakfast was dismal and very lacking. We called weeks ahead to let them know we would be arriving late and then called again that evening to confirm we would be late arriving. When we got there after 11pm, there was only a single room for us (me & DS, Dsis & Dniece). We ended up in there with a twin size rollaway bed. (That was all they had.) Finally, LATE the next day, we were moved to the room we should have had from the beginning. We were never given any kind of compensation for the problems they put us through.

If you are looking for just close proximity and are happy with a breakfast of toast and cheap juice, the Park Vue is okay.

I stayed a few years before at the Fairfield Inn, which is a little further away, but still easily walked. It was a much better place to stay all around!

Of the 4 places you have listed The Best Western Anaheim Inn is the best. The other three have wildly different reviews with some saying things were okay and many saying there were problem. I have personally stayed at the Park Vue and the Anaheim Plaza. The Anaheim Plaza is dated and my room was clean but worn with a couple of mechanical problems. The Park View was clean and comfortable though old as well but the walls and windows were thin so much noise could be heard from next door and outside. The best Westenr Anaheim Inn is owned byt he same people who own the Best Western Park Place Inn and Mini Suites which (I agree with the above poster) would be mych better than the other 4 places but is usually more expensive.

Oooh- I can get the Best Western park Inn for $79. I checked Expedia before I posted original question and it came up as $111/night, but the B.W. website came up as $79- with breakfast! So---is that the way I should go? :confused3

And thanks HydroGuy for that link. Very helpful :goodvibes

Prior to staying on site, we stayed at several of the off property hotels, and hope I can help. I would Strongly suggest staying away from the Park Vue at all costs. It is worse than a motel 6 built in 1966 (not kidding). The gift shop and personnel are so cheesy I didn't want to go anywhere near them.

I agree with the other posters about BWPPI. Have you also considered the Candy Cane Inn? This place is OK and pretty close too. Good luck.

Yes. The Best Western Park Place Inn is a fine place to stay. The rooms are nicely decorated, it has a decent free breakfast and is closer to the Disneyland gates than any other place aside from Disney's Grand Californian.

You're welcome. I would book it ASAP. I did mine online, and they have a 72 hour cancellation policy. You can always cancel it if you keep researching and find something better.

I did book the BW Park Inn, just in case. I also did check out Candy Cane Inn- it was over $100/night and everyone seems to like the BW Park Inn. Thanks again :disrocks:

I second thelionqueen suggestion about Candy Cane Inn, it's a great motel, clean, free breakfast, dedicated shuttle, great staff!! www.candycaneinn.net is the url to check out.
