Can someone tell me how the Parks are the Month of May?

Last minute with the postcard rates we were going to go the first week of December but with a new baby due any day there is not enough time for us to realistically save for a trip so close. I was so looking forward to the cooler weather.

Is there a better time to go in May, beginning or end of the month? How are the crowds and weather?

We went in the 2nd week of May it was great. I do recommend you not to go to AK on a Monday (EE day). It gets packed. All other parks were wonderful. Epcot was not crowded and MGM/MK were just right. The weather was good too...although it can make it to 95 degrees. It doesn't rain much either. It rained one day for about an hour. I like May, but I'm trying October this time because I also heard it's a great month to go.

We went the end of may/beginning of June 2 times and loved it. It is HOT - 90's in the afternoons. But the crowds were bearable, not too bad.

IMHO, Anytime is a good time to go to WDW!!

We've been the last week of Mayfor the past two years and thought everything was perfect. We found the crowds to be larger this year but it was still an enjoyable trip.

We are looking to go this week in May for a BIG family gathering. There will be 10 adults and kids that are 8, 4, 2 and 6 months.

My DD has 2 days off that week and she will only miss 3 days. Our school doesn't get out for summer until June 16th.

When do a lot of East Coast schools get out? I was thinking around Memorial Weekend. We hope to miss Spring Break and hope most schools are still in session. Anyone know about school outings?

We went towrds the end of May and had a wonderful time! It was hot -- but nothing compared to July or August. You can easily escape the heat by going on an indoor ride. We thought the crowds were tiny - almost as low as our January trip. They did pick up on the weekend though, especially as you got closer to Memorial Day. The lines were short -- the longest being the non FP line at Test Track of 45 minutes and non FP line at ToT of 70 minutes. Not too horrible, especially considering both these times were at the peak of the day, and considering the FP lines were much shorter. Another perk of May is that the Flower & Garden in Epcot is running. It's a fantastic event that doesn't draw in too many people, so there's no noticeable change in the crowd. Star Wars Weekends also run during May. They do pull in the crowds, but we found Friday to be bearable if you wanted to see the characters. In my opinion May is a great time to go, and we'll be making a second May trip in 2005.

Thanks everyone! May seems to be a good time. I would love to see the Flower & Garden in Epcot Once of these years I will get there in a cooler month lol.

rsschneck,

We didnt get out of school here in NJ until June 23rd and we go back Sept 8th.(atleast at my kids school). I think the kids down south may get out earlier.
