I know lots of people love Hulk, but it gave me a headache all three times I tried it, so I would not consider it particularly smooth. No other roller coaster (including RNRC) has ever done that. Hulk is not jerky, but it has this constant strong vibration that hurts my head. I hope you have better luck.
I love the RnR and would give anything if I had the courage to ride the hulk. I have gotten as far as getting on it only to quickly get off. I am such a chicken.
The Hulk is so much more smoother. All you have to do is get thru the blastoff and you'll be fine. The loop is no big deal and does not feel any different then if you were going straight on. RnR however 1st blastoff can be a bit intense and the turns are a bit rough. Darkness adds to the effects
..if there's a bit of slack in your harness, lift your feet off the floor just as you hit the top of the launch... as you go into the inversion, you float!!
Hulk is WAY smoother than R&RC. IMHO it's the smoothest out of all the coasters I've ridden in WDW or US. R&RC is not a smooth coaster in my opinion. It gives you the head shakes then a headache due to the head shakes. I would say Kracken at Sea World is another really smooth coaster. I would agree that the further back you ride on R&RC the shakier it gets. It's always been smooth on Hulk. Hulk Rocks!
Whats disappointing about multiple inversions and a high speed quick sendoff? The closest coaster I've ridden to compare it too is the Volcano at Kings Dominion, and I would not classify either as disappointing. Both were adrenaline pumping exitement to me.
Is the Hulk an immediate launch like RNRC, or is there an initial, slow climb up a hill? I can live with being launched, but I hate that slow drag up the hill.
front seat of the hulk is amazing. I love coasters but rarely like the front. DS talked me into trying it and I loved it. Iagree that hulk is way smoother than RNR or either side of DD. Kraken would be a close tie.
