We've used the DXDP the past 3 years, eating all TS meals. Prior to that there were some great CS places we enjoyed, but a lot of things change in 3 yrs.... This year we're leaning towards the regular DP, and looking forward to enjoying the following CS places (please tell me if these have gone downhill in quality, choices, or portion sizes, and if we should run to the phone to upgrade to DXDP):
Cosmic Rays- chicken & rib meal
All Star Movies food court- all 3 meals...not fast food choices
Sunshine Seasons- chinese food platter
Yakitori House- udon and combo meal
Anything good in Hollywood Studios????? Not fast food...
Yak & Yeti CS or Flame Tree
Pepper Market-Steak dinner or chinese
Wolfgang Puck CS
House of Blues-never been there, would be OOP with rest.com coupon
(have one purchased last year-do these not expire?)
Anything else new and exciting?
Thanks! :cool1:And...even ABC Comm is HS is better than eating at the best place in NY, LOL!

There's not much that isn't changing these days. The basic hot dog is now a chili dog so you have to ask for is plain if you don't want the chili. I believe the chili is intended to mask that the hot dogs have a lot of chicken in them and the buns are tastless wheat buns (A.K.A. "crumble buns" because they fall apart in your hands). Still, some people think they are great, but not the majority. The last few times I had CS was at Pizza Planet in the studios and Electric Umbrella in Epcot. I opted for the meatball sandwich both times and they weren't bad (normal buns, not crumble). What I've been doing is paying attention to what the people ahead of me have on their trays so I can see first-hand what looks appealing. There's still some okay food avaiable in the parks, you just need to look for it.

Does anyone happen to know, as long as the conversation went towards hotdogs, if the ones they use are primarily mechanically separated chicken? I just. can't. eat. that! >_<

It's a mouthful to say, but the Kringla Bakeri og Kafe in Norway is a wonderful place to get a sandwich and/or soup, salad. We eat there every time we go and haven't had anything but great food! Also, we love Earl of Sandwich in DD. I don't exactly know how Columbia Harbor House is listed, but we had wonderful food there last month. The ones you mentioned, esp. Flame Tree are some of our favorites and seem to be pretty reliable each year. Hope this helps.:flower3:

My family has had CS at Flame Tree (AK), Sunshine Seasons (Epcot), Kringla (Norway), Cosmic Rays (MK), Pecos Bills (MK), Earl of Sandwich (DTD), Liberty Inn (Epcot US), and a few turkey legs (various locations).

Overall, we've enjoyed the CS we've had (with a few exceptions - we did not like Pecos Bill's taco salad or the Liberty Inn hotdog).

As with any of the food places in Disney, some are better than others and some have a wider variety. I'd start by looking at the "menus" on Allears.net for a good idea of what is available at east CS place.

As for portion size, my family are not huge eaters, but the CS meals were all sized pretty good for us. (For a frame of reference - the personnel sized pizza at Via Napoli plus one appetizer was enough for two of us.)
