Can anybody tell me how is the food onboard ? I'm going on a cruise in Oct and this is my first Disney Cruise . I've been on 4 carnival cruises and I love there 24hour pizza. I Saw the Room Service and It's Much Much Better then Carnival's !!!!!!! But how are the buffets? Do they have them for B,L & D also do they offer a Midnight Buffet or somewhere you can go late night to get a bite to eat ? Also do the waiters mind if your order more then one starter or entree ? Thank you for the help

They encourage you to get more than one entree and dessert. I was expecting the food to be not so good. I was pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious.

There is no midnight buffet, but they have a dessert buffet.

Not sure about dinner as we never went to topsiders for dinner. But there is definitely a breakfast and lunch buffet. When you are done with the buffet line go to the middle of dining area they always have some sort of station there, preparing fresh foods. Caesar salad, pasta staion, oriental food station etc.

During dinner, our waiter would bring us extra appetizers that were different from the ones we ordered. The breakfast buffets were great. My DS8 loved the tuna salad sandwich from room service. I had heard raves about the chocolate chip cookies, but I tried their oatmeal cookies once, and I never went back to chocolate chip. Take a galley tour and you get warm ones. I only remember the dessert buffet late at night, but you can always order room service. Have fun.;)

You can check out the menus at www.dcltribute.com. We found the food to be great...esp. at Palo...be sure to get reservations for this...definitely worth the $5. Also if you're going on the 7 day, do Brunch and High Tea at Palo. There was a Seafood buffet on one of our "at sea" days that was very good also. You can look at the "Navigators" at the above website to see about the lunch buffets that are served. Room service cheese and cracker tray is great.

We have always found plenty to eat and are never disappointed in the quality or flavor. You can order as many things off the menu as you want. The four of us had 7 creme brulee's and three chocolate desserts at one meal:rolleyes: The food at the buffets was also VERY good. The American Buffet was delicious.

The couple of times we orderd from room service were snacks but they were tasty, and there are places out on deck to also p/u burgers, dogs and other snacks. I hear a lot of good comments about chicken planks.

Hope you have a great time and enjoy yourselves.

Steve

I thought that the food was great. Keep in mind though, when dining in the restaurants, you CAN order more than one appetizer, entree, dessert, etc. This comes in handy especially when you can decide between two things!! :D The only thing that I wish that I knew on our last cruise was that kids can order off of the adult menu. We definitely plan on doing this when we go again in October. Our DD9 would spend the entire cruise eating only chicken nuggets!! I would like her to branch out a little bit.

Enjoy your trip!! :bounce:

I made the mistake of telling our waiter that I couldn't decide between THREE of the entress... Yup, he brought me all 3!!
Worst part is, I ate 'em all! ;)

The food was infinitely better than I had expected. Top notch, actually. Great veal, chicken, escargot, lobster...on and on.

The kids really enjoyed the pizza out by the pool. They also liked the kid's menu stuff in the dining rooms. Their favorite game-plan was to go on the Mickey slide for a while, eat a ton of pizza, go back on the slide, then go to Scoops and eat ice cream!!

I am looking forward to going back but my waistline isn't!

My older dd (age 7) is excited about getting ice cream pretty much whenever she wants. Wait till I tell her about cookies from room service!

i've heard a lot of criticism of the food in threads here on this board, but we thought the food was great...

we had steamed bass dish at tritons which had to be the best bass i've ever eaten ever.....anywhere.....and i'm not even a fish eater....

I have cruised on 3 Disney cruises and have alway's enjpyed the food. I alway's go with the waiter's reccomendation, and have never been sorry. I have some cruise picture's as well as some food picture's at www.picturetrail.com Where it say's view album put Tluvs2talk.
