I was looking through reviews & didn;t see much on Tony's. We've dined everywhere in the MK & would like to try Tony's but only if the food is yummy. Thanks!

As I have stated openly in several other posts... I don't actively campaign against any restaurant at WDW except Tonys!

Hands down our worst experience in 4 trips in terms of service and food quality.

Never, ever again!

I'm sure others have different opinions and usually I can be objective if I just didn't care for a restaurant (like when our experience at Chef Mickey just didn't live up to the hype but I don't slam it because a lot of folks love CM and it was ok)

Tonys = :crazy2:

I am sorry to hear that. Was it bad food or bad service or both?

We had that experience at WCC & I swore I would never eat there again.

We've had dinner at Tony's twice, once less than 2 weeks ago, the other about 13 months ago. We had always stayed away because of some of the reviews we had heard and read. I can honestly say that neither time were we disappointed with our meal or the service. As a matter of fact, on our first trip there, we probably had the best service we've ever had at any restaurant in WDW, and we've been going for about 25 years and always eat at least lunch and dinner at WDW restaurants.

We Love Tony's been here many of times any never had a bad time.

Well, I have to say that on reflection Tony's wasn't the best restaurant we ate at. I certainly don't think it was the worst... our evening meal at the Crystal Palace holds that reward. But I have to admit to being a little disappointed.

Maybe it was the food being average. It kind of reminds me of the Nissan Sunny car. It wasn't the worst car in the world, but you couldn't help disliking it for being absolutely average in every way. Like Tony's.

That might sounds too harsh on reflection. Go there... but just don't think it's the bee's knees.

Like a previous poster, we had been hesitant to try Tony's based on disboard reviews. But we finally did and we liked it very much and have been back several times and never had anything but a pleasant, positive experience. It is not gourmet Italian food that tastes like something somebody's Italian grandmother would make. I'd say its about on par with an Olive Garden. I enjoy the Lady and the Tramp theming, and I love their pistachio creme brulee! We have always had good service. You can sometimes time it right and end up with a decent view of the afternoon parade or Spectro.

The MK has limited options. If you want a non buffet, non character meal, its Tony's or the Plaza.

I always say give a restaurant a try and then you'll know yourself!

I ate at Tony's two weeks ago. I had the spaghetti and meatballs and my boyfriend had the steak. Both meals were mediocre - not terrible but not delicious either. The service was good but quick...a little too quick (if thats possible). We ordered our food and it was delivered to our table in less than one minute. Clearly, it is not made to order or wasn't for us. This may be fine for people in a rush but we were really looking to take our time during a quiet dinner. Instead, I felt like we were hurried. Also, the selection is limited (you can see the menu on allears.net). I will say, the desserts were delicious.

Overall, it wasn't a bad experience but also not good enough to make me return anytime soon.

GREAT lunch! Meatball sub is amazing. It's usually quiet during lunch (we go for lunch at least once every trip) and we request to sit in the glass patio. We've tried dinner a couple of times (last trip being the last time we'll give it a chance for dinner). Food was good (chicken parmigiana) but service was chaotic and it was so noisy and full of kids running around I felt like I was eating at Chuck. E. Cheese.

I'm vegan, and the only entree that was available to me was the spaghetti with marinara sauce. You'd think with Tony's being an Italian restaurant, they would have an awesome marinara sauce. It basically tasted like something from a jar.

The main reason I ate here was to get a picture of me and my boyfriend sharing a noodle like Lady and the Tramp. I got the picture, and I won't be back until they add a new, awesome veg. entree to the menu.

I will say that the smoothie I had in the collector's mug was good, though! And it's a very pretty mug. The restaurant atmosphere is very pretty, as well. I liked that they played Lady and the Tramp on the TV while you're waiting to be seated.

Honestly I think it can happen anywhere (we liked WCC but I know what you mean) .... if a place just had average or bad food you might think it was just an off night and give it a try on another trip. Or if you had a bad encounter with a server or host but the food was good you'd try again. But we had such poor service, bad food and lack of response that I wouldn't waste another meal trying it out.

It started with the host being rude, giving us the worst table in a half empty restaurant and refusing to move us to another part of the restaurant. My kids were tired and hungry so I didn't put up a big fuss, we sat there.

The server was unfriendly (probably the host had told him we were unhappy) and unattentive. We had to ask for everything (bread basket, water....) He never smiled but he did push the upsell of appetizers and desserts (we weren't on any dining plan).

The food was terrible, one had kids pizza and said it was "gross", two had spaghetti with marinara and meatball... again yuck (when DH won't eat you know it is bad) and I had a steak that was over cooked and I couldn't eat it. The waiter did ask if anything was wrong since so little of our food was eaten. I told him the food was very poor quality and he shrugged his shoulders and brought us a full bill ! He could have salvaged things by offering us a free dessert or something but no.

It was a live and learn experience for us. The only time at Disney I've really felt ripped off in a restaurant. There have been others that weren't perfect but never felt as mad as that night.

I've heard some not so great things about Tony's but our experience there was great. All of us loved our food, especially the spaghetti.

DH and I had lunch there in Oct and we really enjoyed it. We do have dinner ressies there for next month and DH is looking forward to trying dinner

We've been there a few times, most recently last week. While I wouldn't say it's one of the better restaurants at DW, it's certainly enjoyable. We haven't had a bad experience there yet, either with regards to our food or service. And we certainly wouldn't hesitate to go back.

I do have to echo a PP's comments that the pistachio creme brulee is yummy!! :thumbsup2

My DH and I went here without an ADR on the last night of our honeymoon. The place was packed, but the wonderful staff there made sure to get us in right away-- and with a decorated table to boot. It really made me feel the Disney magic.

I would say the food is on par with an Olive Garden. I ate here once in 2002 and the food was pretty icky (worst calamari ever), but when I ate here in June everything was just fine. Again, it's not Tutto Dolce Italian food, but more like an Olive Garden.

We Love Tony's been here many of times any never had a bad time.

I was just there for lunch, on Feb. 5 and I got the eggplant...what a BIG meal it was, and for 12.99 not bad at all!:thumbsup2 This was my second trip, and I had a great meal and great service!;)

For those of you who like Tony's, what menu items do you like? If you don't like Tony's, what did you eat that you didn't like?

Tony's was one of our favorite meals on our last trip. Everyone enjoyed their food even my picky dh. We are going again in June and can't wait. Our server was execellent as well. Funny how people have such different things to say about the same resturant. Best thing is to try it for yourself with an open mind. Everyone's taste is different. I think you will enjoy it!

That's Amore
