Hubby and I have always wanted to eat the Rainforest. It has always been crowded like over 90 minutes at WDW so I thought I would make reservations for our first night. How is the food? Also does anyone know how much the T shirt are? What is the rainforest like? What doe you suggest to eat? Do you think we could do CA from 1pm-6pm then go to PP to the pool for an hour and then to eat at 830pm?

I really like the RFC. We don't have one here (many cities do making RFC nothing special for some people) so its always fun for us. ITs sort of dark in there, the one in Disneyland's DTD is two levels. It thunders and rains you don't get wet) every fifteen minutes. Their portions are huge, I like the China Island Chicken Salad and the Awesome Appetizer Sampler is also good. Its somewaht like any other chain restaurant, although its better than my local Chilis or Applebees. It has a large menu. Their tee shirts are not a bad price, they are cheaper than the ones sold inside the parks, I can't remember the exact prices, sometimes they have specials where if you buy two you get a third half off or something. I think you can totally do the parks til 6:00, swim and then go over to RFC. From the PP it will take you about five minutes to walk over. But definitely make a reservation!

Also, you might want to join their Safari Club. Its a one time charge of $15, but you can sign up that night and immediately save 10% on food and souveneirs. And with that, you will also get seated much quicker at the ones in WDW that don't take reservations (although I think they do, you just have to call them directly, not thru Disney Dining). Its great since that way we can eat there when it works for us, and not have to worry about making plans ahead of time. And saving 10% is nice too. And its good at All Landry locations, including RFC, Landry's, Saltgrass and maybe others (thats the ones I know of offhand).

We heard a lot of negative reviews but went anyway (last year) with a party of two adults and my grown son and his GF (sort of adults) and two little ones 7 and 4. Everyone LOVED it! The food was really good. I had some kind of turkey wrap, and it was awesome! We sat with a huge salt water tank practically in our laps and a family of trumpeting elephants behind our heads! Maybe we hot a good night with a good cook, but it was fab! The gift shop is PACKED with stuff. We didnt buy anything... nothing was cheap but nothing at DL is cheap, so it was about average for the area I'd say. Deffo use call ahead seating though! AND dont have dinner at the rush hour. Go before 6. I'd try for 5:30 if I were you. You wont have to wait that long probably.

Nov 06 we did breakfast and supper at RFC and wow, it was awesome! Service was great and meals were delicious! Definitely would go back

We were there in Dec 06 and loved it. The portions were big enough to share and the girls loved the gorillas! Service was excellent. We will go again, definitely.

I haven't been to the one in DtD - only been onceto the one in Niagara Falls and LOVED It - they gave a LOT of food - DH had steak, FIL pot roast, MIL Salmon and I had crab cakes - it was all awesome, then we split the VOLCANO! Four Adults and we could not finish it. We enjoyed it. . . needless to say when we go to DL we plan on going our first day, and when I take my mom to Niagara Falls later this year we will also be going. . . I think I will just have to join the Safari club :)

We went in DTD and enjoyed it.....Be careful though we got caught in the trap of buying the blinking glasses and such which really boosted the total tab! Being a veg. there wasn't much to eat except the pasta w/o the chicken. Kids loved it! I find the gift shop to have fair prices especially on the specials.

We have one here locally so I've never been in the one at DL. The one here is good. The food is always good. The kid didn't like her pasta last time (too much garlic) and they replaced it with something else (turkey wrap I think) The service has always been great. I think I had coconut shrimp last time and the portion was just huge. We always take away leftovers. It's kind of pricey though. Including the tip, it was just just under $100 for the three of us. (two teenage girls and me)

The food is good..but at this time of year in Disney..ressies are a must..although don't assume you won't have to wait in line if you have reservations..We had them..and still had to wait about 40 minutes...

We've only eaten there once but we really liked it. The food was good, the portions were good size and the ambiance is really fun. My kids really liked the moving elepahnts and gorillas and looking at all the big fish aquariums. The "thunder and rain" were exciting (although it scared my older one the first time but after she realized it was just pretend then it was just fine.)

RFC is one of my families favorite places to eat! The atmosphere is great and the service is always top notch! The portions on most of their items are large and can be shared.

We eat there every time we go!

Do yourself a favor. Head over to Rain Forest's gift shop. There is usually something good at a good price on sale. We've gotten T-shirts, coffee mugs, hats. All at good prices there. Then leave and head over to Mimi's across Harbor to eat. Donate the difference in meal price directly to whatever rain forest preservation charity you choose. You'll get a better meal and you'll be donating more at the same time.

It's not that the food is bad at Rain Forest. It's just that I can get the same at a better price or better at the same price (and sometimes better at a better price) for nearly everything on their menu at one or another place.

Have eaten there many time and loved it. The best steak I have had in a long time. Lots of fun for the kids.

I think the food is good, not the best, but still good. My favorites are the appetizers and the desserts - so I tend to skip the main course and just do an appetizer.

Already dreaming of the crab cake sandwich I plan on consuming this July...and you can't beat the setting. Just a lot of fun all around, and totally worth the wait and price.

That does sound yummy..I may have to try that when I go in June..

Rainforest is a fun and entertaining place. My personal favorite is the caribe chicken strips with the curry coconut sauce in the appetizer section. Mmmm! :woohoo:

We were there last Wednesday and loved it! It is the first meal I can remember my kids actually sitting still at a table the entire time and eating all of their meal.

They loved their food (maybe chicken nuggets and hot dog), DH had a hamburger, and I had the turkey BLT. The portions are huge and very tasty!

Rainforest Cafe was one of our best meals the entire trip. We had PS reservations for 5.30pm, got there around 5.20pm and went straight in. They let us bring the stroller in because DD (11 months) was asleep in it and were absolutely fantastic.

Oh..my daughter loved the food as well..but..I did splurge..and get her the plastic drink cup..with the Rainforest character in the bottom of the cup...It was pricey..(I think around $11.00) but..she is still using it a year later....and.. now I can put snacks in the bottom... the part the animal was in..for road trips...and a lot of liquid can fill the top..
