How is the drinking water?

I was making a list for my grocery order and was wondering how much bottled water to order. I had planned on only drinking bottled water while in the parks but is the tap water in the villas good? Thanks in advance for any advice.:goodvibes

Depends on what you are use to. It meets or exceeds Federal and local government requirements for drinking water. Some like it and others don't.

I think that the bottled water issue is out of wack anyway. I fight with the family about it all of the time. A couple of weeks ago, I showed my DD the label on her gallon bottles of drinking water. "Source - San Antonio Public Water Supply". :goodvibes

IMO the taste of the tap water at WDW has greatly improved in the last few years although I have always drank it. I just like it better now.

I'm with disneynutz on this one - bottled water isn't controlled and can come from any water source. I personally have seen two sources and it doesn't encourage me to purchase! I only will if it's providing a convenience that I want.

Coming from Chicago where I have been drinking tap water day in and day out for over 40 years, I am by no means a water snob. I found the tap water at BC and BLT to be unpalatable. It even had that sulphur odor (when I was a kid, we called it egg water.) I definitely indulged in bottled water - but it didn't have to be Fiji or Evian.

Find it fine using a Brita water pitcher! Keep it in our owner's locker. We fill up our bottles each morning to take to the park.

We drink it on every trip. No problems for us.

Some people hate it, others don't. Everyone in my family is willing and able to drink the tap water around WDW without complaint.

Thank you for all of your responses. I don't normally buy bottled water except for situations like vacation. I always drink tap water at home and I fill bottles to go when needed. I have vacationed at locations before where the water was really, really bad. I am buying bottled water to carry with us in the parks for the convenience but I was worried about what we would drink when we were in the villa. We are staying at VWL if that makes any difference. Still not sure what to do but I am thinking I may just buy some extra water just in case.:goodvibes

I don't have a problem with tap water and always drink it while out but I thought the water a VWL in August smelled and tasted terrible:sad2::sad2::sad2: you could even smell it when you showered, I would buy my water

Whoever doesn't mind the smell and taste of Disney water probably has a town with smelly water. The water in every WDW resort we've stayed in tastes like the Pirates of the Caribbean ride smells.

We don't like it, but we drink it. It seems to have a sodium air to it, but it beats the nasty well water we have at home. As others have said, I'm sure it meets or beats the quality (health wise) of bottled water.

I prefer bottled because you can get it nice and cold in the fridge. The water in FL comes out too warm for my tastes.

That is exactly what we thought about the water at BLT last month. I agree, it even had an odor when you bathed.

I drink Tap EVERY DAY ALL DAY and I hate the FL water. If I have no water and dont feel like going out to buy one at night, I boil the water and then drink it. It still tastes a little funky, but I feel better about drinking it after it's been boiled.

I drink tap water at home all the time but I have tried and will NOT drink water from any tap at DW again:sad2:. We arrived at SSR late at night our last trip and unloaded all our luggage and carried it up to the room (5 adults, 4 kids, 11,4,1,NB for a 12night stay lots of luggage) and went to get a drink of water. It was so bad I spit it out:sick: and only drank bottled water from then on. Also my parents and bro-in-law drink coffee and they bought gallon jugs after the next morning the could taste it even in coffee so they wouldn't even use it for coffee and we all drink tap water at home but it was that bad:crazy2:. You could smell it over the coffee and if you got a plain clear glass you could see it.
