How is the clothing? Do they sell a lot of bags?

So I'm thinking I won't pack a ton of clothes because I AM a clothing junkie on trips. I'm forever buying hoodies, tanks, all that kind of stuff. Do they offer a big range of clothing at the souvineer shops? Like long sleeved clothing and hoodies? What about bags? Will I be able to pick up some nice bags to use as carry ons on the way home? I'm thinking about not taking any carry ons on the plane except for DD4 so we have room to bring stuff back but I was going to maybe buy a carry on luggage bag at Disney or some sort of nice bag etc...do they sell rolling luggage at the shops there? What can I expect? Will my resort sell stuff POFQ?

Disney sets the standards when it comes to merchandising. There is an endless variety of clothing options. And the luggage should be easily found also.

Have fun shopping!

This is why I REALLY want that PIN# for the merchandise card!!!!! I'm going to call and ask about it tonight even though some say they got nowhere doing that...worth a shot!

POFQ has a very small gift shop, BUT there is a free boat to Downtown Disney, which of course has the World of Disney store. If you can't find it there, you won't find it anywhere!
Have fun!

Be aware that pricing is VERY expensive. I bought my DD a t-shirt at the Dinosaur gift shop an it was $25. Hoodies and sweatshirts are in the $45-65 range.

Guess I better get the $1000 gift card if they offer it then! :rotfl2:

Yes, the T-shirts and other clothing is expensive, but I've found my Disney purchases to be good quality and they last a long time.

That's my next question, what's the quality of the clothing? I remember reading other threads about how crappy people said the clothes were, the sizes were off and they wore really bad after a few washings. :confused3

POFQ had rolling luggage in the gift shop. We had to buy one for our trip home. The clothing selection is limited, but you can find anything anywhere at Disney, and if you can't find something ask. Take the boat to Downtown Disney to shop at the World of Disney. I could spend $1000 easily, but I only pick out a few things each trip.

We were at DHS in October 2007, and my 4 year old son needed a change of shorts and underwear. We were at Toy Story Pizza planet and my husband just ran over to the nearest gift shop. They didn't have anything on the floor, so he asked and the cast member went to a stock room and found small underwear and shorts for him. My son loved the Mickey shorts and Mickey underwear.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Disney clothes!! I always buy too much!! The clothing selection last summer was AWESOME!! They had a lot of different items, a lot more stylish than in past years!!

IMHO, I love clothes shopping at Mouse Gear in Epcot, it seems they have the best variety of sizes, and the best selection, and if you shop in the morning, its practically empty!! But that goes for most of the stores, if you shop early in the day, you have better luck getting thru the registers quick!

And remember if you are staying on property they can ship it back to your resort for free :)

Oh that's right! I forgot about that perk! Man, please send me that gift card PIN!!!!

Every time I've ever been any gift shop, they always have some type of bag as a special deal. "Spend $50, get the bag for $10" type of deals. There are usually two items offered and one is a bag. Disney is not dumb! ;)
Different shops have different bags - I've seen totes, duffels, and rolling luggage - so keep an eye out for the signs at the registers to find what you want.

If you are planning to spend a BOATLOAD of money on clothes and other souvenirs you may want consider getting an Annual Pass instead of a park hopper. I purchased an AP in December (we had APs before, but our previous ticket was a PH) and I was pleasantly surprised that I got a discount at EVERY gift shop location, including pin carts. I *think* it was 20%. So, it might be worth it to compare your current park hopper price with that of an AP. There are other AP discounts that may also be attractive.

ETA: It was 20% but I think that is ending soon. You will still save 10% at the World of Disney store.

All of the resort (at least I know that moderates and up) sell articles of clothing, bags and suitcases (usually) in their gift shops and most are themed to that particular resort. The TrendD store in DTD sells some really cute clothes/bags and I could honestly drop a few hundred in that store alone. If you want sports related clothing then Team Mickey is the store to head to. Most of the attractions sell shirts that are themed to that particular attraction, same thing for theme park general merchandise stores. I have seen some very nice leather goods in DHS and that really large store in DTD (name is escaping me right now).

I, personally, think that the t-shirts tend to run a little small when comparing a WDW L to an Old Navy L there is a definite difference.

I used to buy a lot of Old Navy for DD when she was a baby but boy, their sizes are SMALL! And she is just a little thing but I am buying 1 or 2 sizes up for her from Old Navy...

Just about all the stores are different. I love Tren-D, the "vintage" store in the Studios (next to the bathrooms on Sunset Blvd.), and all the shops in Asia and Africa at AK (or in Adventureland at MK, those are similar to AK's). Every area has its own shops themed to that area, then there are also big stores at each park that basically all carry the same merchandise (World of Disney at DTD, Emporium at MK, Mouse Gear at Epcot, and I forget the ones at the Studios and AK).

It was too hot to be thinking of anything other than T-shirts/tank tops/etc. when we were there, but I know they sell jackets and long-sleeved shirts as well. (And sweatshirts and sweaters and skirts ... no socks, though! My DSis-I-L wanted Tigger socks and we had to send her a Tigger coffee mug instead.)

They have a VINTAGE CLOTHING STORE??? OMG! I just LOVE Vintage Disney! I'm adding that to my list of MUST STOP shops! :woohoo: What kind of stuff did they have? Like just vintage Ts and stuff like that? Can't wait!
