How is the bus service from DTD Hilton to the parks?

If I understand correctly, the Disney buses do not serve the Hilton and other hotels at Downtown Disney, but they have their own buses. Where do they pick up and drop off? Do they go directly to EPCOT and MK, or just to TTC? Do you have to transfer at TTC to go to MGM and AK? Are they as reliable as Disney service, or is a car something that is needed. This is for a trip in early Nov., if that makes a difference. Thanks. Gayle

We stayed at the Hilton last Nov 9-13. We only used the busses the 1st day and then rented a car. The bus stops at several of the hotels and takes you to the TTC for MK. Then you must ride the monirail or boat. The part that bothered us was the pick-up in the evening. The line forms in the middle of the parking lot. We found the car very easy to get around and our trip went much better after we picked it up. We did have to pay for parking. The hotel is very nice btw. I did walk to Downtown Disney but it would be pretty far for little ones to walk unless you have a stroller.
