I was talking with my DH tonight and mentioned that for our May 2007 trip I want to try the Brown Derby. He then reminded me that back when we were planning our 2005 trip we saw a news report about resturants at WDW and if I remember correctly they said that the Brown Derby was not the cleanest and violated some health codes. I only remembered after my husband reminded me but I do remember them mentioning the Brown Derby. Does anybody remember anything about this and if you have been there recently what did you think? Did you notice any problems?

TIA,

Loralie

If that is true about BD, it is news to me. We have been twice (1989 and 2005) and it was very clean and had excellent food. Give it a try. PS.. I didn't like the raved about grapefruit cake, my friend had the creme brulee and it was to die for.

We ate at Brown Derby in December and it was wonderful! The food and service were impeccable and it looked squeaky clean to me! The atmosphere is just wonderful too! You really feel like you are stepping back in time into old Hollywood. I would highly recommend Brown Derby to anyone!

Food and atmosphere are wonderful at Brown Derby.

On our last trip in December we went to BD 3 times. My DH and I both love the food and the atmosphere. One night we ate in the outdoor area and it was very enjoyable.

Neither my DH nor I noticed anything visibly dirty, but I guess you never really know what the kitchen is like. I'm glad I didn't see that report.

What can I say?
We loved it.
The service, atmosphere, food.

Another vote yes here, we love BD. It seems very clean, I think one of the cleanest at MGM. The food is wonderful, the cobb salad!! :thumbsup2

We enjoyed our meal immensely - I've never heard of it being dirty or having issues nor did we notice anything.

we had a great meal there also and i thought it seemed as clean as any other wdw restaurant....not sure how they work it but i would think everyplace would be cleaned by disney and need to meet there standards? ( not personal cleaning contractors i mean like many restaurants in the real world are)

We've dined there any # of times and never noticed a thing wrong in the dining area itself.

We have eaten at the Brown Derby many times and have always enjoyed our meals. We last ate there this past September and had another enjoyable meal.
