Do you get 3g there?

Any chance AT&T WiFi comes through there? Ok, a shot in the dark, but just thought I would ask. LOL

All of our AT&T cell phones have great 3G coverage throughout Fort Wilderness and the surrounding areas. I tether to my laptop for high speed internet at The Fort without any problems.

Good luck and have a great time! :)

Do you pay for the internet or get it through AT&T? I had heard something about being able to use AT&T WiFi for free anywhere they have it if you have phone service...

Do you mean for an AT&T aircard or notebook? Or for a cell phone?

The last time I was selecting unlimited internet packages for the cell phone this is what I had to choose from:

Unlimited Internet/data packages for cell phones/smart phones are $15 a month, the same plan for PDAs/Pocket PCs is $30 a month.

I pay a flat $30 a month for unlimited 3G highspeed on my phone whether I browse from my phone or whether I tether to my laptop. I never pay to use the Fort's Internet, I just use the unlimited package from my phone.

Yeah, I have the unlimited iphone data plan. How do you tether your laptop?

I don't think you can tether with the iPhone. My son can tether with his smartphone. In fact, that is how he is getting internet at college.

If anyone knows if and how you can use an iPhone as a modem, please let me know.

Darn. :(

I have the newest version Iphone (3GS) and am currently at the Fort and have no issues whatsoever to report. We also have sprint data card for laptop and no problems using that either. :thumbsup2

Do you have another 3g capable phone in your family? Just take the SIM card out of the top of the iphone, put it into a different phone and use that one to tether.

That's what I do since my Tilt doesn't work well with Vista on one of the laptops. I just put the SIM card into my Samsung Synch and tether with it instead.

Actually, if you get broadband service (DSL) from AT&T you get free WI-FI connections at many McDonalds, Barnes & Nobles, and Starbucks locations. All you need to use is your email address/login and password. Here is the link: http://www.att.com/gen/general?pid=5949 At this site you can see a demo and look up locations. It says there's a WI-FI spot, for example, at a McD just across from Hotel Plaza Blvd in DTD on Hwy 535. Never used it before but it's there. Maybe you can grab a cup of coffee and try it. Also some out on 192.

I think the WI-FI hotspots are also available to iPhone users as well but if you have a 3G phone in a 3G service area, you're probably using that instead.

PS - I think the FedEx-Kinko's locations are coming on-board for the WI-FI service also.

I have AT&T cell phone and the AT&T 3G aircard for my lap top. I have no problems with either at the fort.
