How is rider swap working with FP+?

Wow- that should be nice for the people with small children then who will get 6 FP+s

Not exactly because parents may want to FP attractions that their children can ride. Plus, if the kids are over 3, you won't be able to use their FP because they can't ride alone (depending on age).

I will be able to update in a month...Oldest DS and I have a FP+ for Soarin and DH has a FP+ for TT at Epcot. 2 yo youngest DS is too small for both. Hopefully we will be able to both experience Soarin with our oldest.

We used RS along with FP+ in February.

We ended up deciding not to use RS to get around the tiers in Epcot, because we found the FP line for TT to still be a pretty long wait. Instead we used single rider there because all our riders were adults.

It will work to "get around" the tiers. We primarily used ours for bonus rides for half our party on rides we had already rode earlier in the day, we had no issues getting a RS pass when entering the FP lane, and we had no issues redeeming the pass without holding a FP for that time. The passes got in 3 people total like in the past too.

Yes.. I went at the end of February with my husband and 3 kids 12,9,1.. We only did magic kingdom. We had no problems with magic bands and fastpass+ and rider swap. The rides that the baby could ride with us we did at rope drop. Then for buzz lightyear and the jungle cruise we all used out FP+. The rides that the baby couldn't do we used rider swap and FP+. We did this on tomorrow land speedway and thunder mountain. My husband and one of the older kids used their 3rd FP+ for thunder mountain and I went to the FP entrance with him and they gave me a pass good for me and 2 others. So when my husband and one child got off I went with the same child and my other daughter. We did the same on the speedway only me and my other daughter used out last FP and my husband and other daughter sat out until we got off and them my husband went with both kids through the FP line with the rider swap pass. So each child got to ride one ride 2x. People may think its not fair etc.. But in reality we spend so much more time at those rides because we have to split up and wait for each other since the baby can't go.
Any more questions feel free to ask. It worked awesome for us. No questions asked. We even got a pass at goofy roller coaster in the morning when there was no line and we saved it for later in the day when the lines were longer.

I'll be at WDW in September with my mom, my sister, and my 2-year-old son. Assuming nothing changes with the RS policy before then, and assuming we don't encounter any uncooperative CMs, if I set up our FP+s as follows:

(All the rides are just for the sake of the example, I haven't really thought the plan out in this much detail yet)

For me:
9:00- Peter Pan; 10:00- Jungle Cruise; 11:00- Splash Mt

For my mom:
9:00- Peter Pan; 10:00- Jungle Cruise; 11:00- Big Thunder

For my sister:
9:00- Peter Pan; 10:00- Jungle Cruise; 12:00- Space Mt

So, we get there at RD, ride whatever (probably Fantasyland stuff) with no wait, at a little before 10:00 do PP w/ FP+. Do JC w/ FP+ and any other short-wait rides by 11:00.

Then, right at 11:00, we bring DS to the Splash FP entrance and get a RS. I ride Splash alone while mom and sis hang out with DS.

As soon as I get off the ride, I swap Magic Bands with my mom. We get a RS for BTMRR, and I ride it alone.

As soon as I get off that one, I swap Magic Bands with my sister, we book it across the park, get RS for Space, and I ride it alone.

Then, I could leave the park with DS and get him back to the hotel for his nap, while my mom and sister could ride all three mountains, with the rider swaps, at whatever leisurely pace they choose.

Does this sound workable?

Looks good! As long as they haven't changed anything since February that should work good for you. If you go to Peter Pan first you shouldn't have much of a wait without FP. You can always switch it to something else if the line is short.

As has been posted many times, unfortunately Disney's page on the subject hasn't been accurate in many years...note that is says the person who stayed behind can only bring one guest, when it has _always_ been good for up to _three_ people, at every attraction the pass is offered, always.

The pass itself, if available, is _guaranteed_ issued if the guest is too small. The CM can _at their discretion_ issue it for other reasons, or offer an alternative way to do the swap. Not all attractions even now have a Fastpass line that can even utilize the pass, but may still offer a swap.

I then used my FP (and my 3 year olds) for a different big ride that my husband got a rider swap (my older DS used my youngest DS band. It was while he napped midday. Did it this way because there weren't many rides worth using a FP that my youngest DS could do as standby was so short. So in a sense we double and triple dipped. But it worked

They haven't been that way in years. They expire at the end of the day.

In the past, they were printed in bulk behind the scenes using the old original printers and generic Fastpass ticket stock. So they didn't have to do them constantly, they printed them out ahead of time, and just gave them expirations in the future.

In early 2008, the changed to having the CMs print a bunch of them from the attraction kiosks themselves in the morning, and if they needed more during the day, they just used on of the kiosks and printed more.

I had been thinking we could do this next month, and just realized that DS can only get 3 FPs, so unless DH or I ride alone the first time, it won't work. Our other son is an infant, so he won't have a ticket.

Thinking about this a little further...let's say that I decide, in the moment, that I don't want to ride Splash. I've ridden it many times before, and I don't feel like getting wet, but I still want to get the RS so my mom and sister can ride it later. Would it be possible for us to get the RS pass, then for me to enter the ride with my FP+ and immediately turn around and leave the line?

Sure, I would be forfeiting my FP+, but if I didn't care, would they?

I'm thinking it would maybe be too blatant, and it wouldn't be worth it to me if I had to awkwardly explain myself. But from a purely logical point of view, it doesn't really seem like it should make any difference.

I'm simply going to say that would be an abuse of the system, and stop there.
