How is Pizza Planet?

I've seen reviews that DHS has the worst counter service meals...I actually used to work there (when it was MGM), but always ate at the cast member cafeteria. Think I ate at Mama Melrose's once....not sure if I ever ate and counter-service. Anyway, we are taking our kids for their first visit in October, and I had planned on Pizza Planet (thought it would be a good use of a QS credit, pizza and salad!) because the kids LOVE Toy Story....who has been to Pizza Planet and what did you think?:yay:

Also...what do you get with your meal on the DDP there? Do you get a salad? I thought so, but not sure judging by the menu!

Its fine. Its where we always eat at DHS. Its just normal Disney pizza and Caesar salad (you can get another kind of dressing on the side).

We eat there at off times because there isn't a ton of seating.

We ate there in Sept. and we all enjoyed it. On the DP you can order the pizza with or without the salad.

We always like eating here. It's fun sitting upstairs and just taking a break from everything. Yes, it's just Disney pizza, but somehow to me it tastes better here lol. Plus we love Toy Story, so it's always a must to eat here for us. I like that you can choose a mickey rice crispy treat for dessert:goodvibes

If you have kids that love Toy Story, they will love Pizza Planet! Its very cute, the pizza is okay, nothing special but still tasty. It tastes just like the pizza at pizzafari at AK and also at the mod and value food courts. Which tells me its some sort of mass produced product!

They sell these lidded cups (sort of a big sippy cup with a plastic straw) and it says Pizza Planet on the cup (with those little alien guys from the pizza planet scene of the movie). I have one that I love to take everywhere because I love the size of it and I take it when I teach Sunday school and I swear every little kid is amazed by that cup and amazed that there is a real Pizza Planet!

Go, your kids will love it. While I do agree DHS does not have the best cs, we still always find something to eat there and never feel the need to skip a meal or go someplace else. We also like Backlot Express and Fairfax Faire but think Pizza Planet is the best for the theme!

We ate there last time we went. The DH and I both got a pizza and a ceaser salad, and a cookie for dessert with the DDP. The DS got a kids pizza and a rice krispie treat. The food was good, but it was a little on the greasy side. We also weren't able to finish all of our meals- to much food!

Sometimes, we'll be driving around town and one of us will just randomly yell out "pizza planet." Then we all take a 2 minute mental vacation.
We get sick of hamburgers and chicken nuggets for CS all week long so we really look forward to the pizzas here. They're good. But the atmosphere and the memories we make there are what makes it so AWESOME for us.

Its not our favorite choice, but its one of those "for the kids" restaurants we always end up doing. The pizza is REALLY bland (kind of like cardboard imho!) but the kids love it. Of course the atmosphere doesn't hurt either....lots of noisy games to play.
You can get a salad with your pizza though...thank goodness for some sanity!! :lmao:

Young children will enjoy Toy Storey Pizza Planet and it will be based more on the theme. As others have referenced, the pizza lacks the wow or whum factor. I would classify this establishment as a typical CS restauant with long lines at times accompanied by the typical CS table hording by individuals without food. If you are dining at peak times you will most likely need to compete for a table.

It sounds like I'm in the minority here but I love the pizza and salad from Pizza Planet and the theme is awsome. It is way to much food though, we can never finish it....... but I aint complaining :lmao:

Is the pizza individual slices? Do you get to pick the salad you want or does it have to be caesar salad? And they only have cheese pizza for the kids? Thanks!

If you have had Disney CS pizza, then you have had the pizza at Pizza Planet. We went last time and we will go again since my kids also love Toy Story, but I may just let them go in to play. They were more worried about playing than eating last time and I couldn't force the pizza down (even though I was starving and 8 month pregnant :rotfl:).

Dh and I love Pizza Planet and find that though the service can be slow the food is always pretty good. One salad that got too near a heat lamp had to be taken back but they were good about it.

We try and get a table outside as we are not interested in the games.

The kids we have seen always seem to be having a great time though.

We love Pizza Planet, the themeing is so so, the pizza is good though but not great. They do give you a lot of food is you get the salad. We like it well enough when we sit indoors, but we much prefer to get a seat outside on the patio.

Pizza Planet is a lot of fun for kids. My son loves it there...for the theme and video games obviously! :) .... I personally dont think they have the best tasting pizza....its just ok. And your right, DHS doesnt have a lot of great CS choices.

My girls were so disappointed by the theming at Pizza Planet that we got out of line and ate at Starring Rolls instead. Since they're not into playing video games, it would have been a long line to get so-so pizza and eat outside...basically the same as eating anywhere except for the actual meal and they enjoyed their croissants, yogurt, fruit and red velvet cheesecake cupcake MUCH more. They'd been hoping for at least the PP atmosphere of eating inside the arcade and feeling like they were in the movie and had planned for it on our DHS day for weeks...and their response to the reality was "this is it? Can we go now?"

Pizza planet is all about the atmosphere. It's a lot of fun but the pizza itself is the Joe Corbis pizza that the boy scouts sell as a fundraiser. It's edible and that's about it. My kids didn't mind it when they were really little but by the time they were 10, they wouldn't touch it with a 9 foot poll.
We're native New Yorkers, LOL. we take our pizza seriously.

I thought the pizza was fine. I'm not picky! We could choose from cheese or pepperoni. DH & I had the salad with ours & we all got cookies for dessert. None of the CS desserts impressed me. Most of the time we would eat a couple of bites & trash it. I chose Pizza Planet because I have a picky DH who won't eat a burger most of the time, but likes bbq, chicken, & pizza.

Very disappointed with PP. Pizza and theaming was just ok. Worst part was we were in in the "Most Magical Place on Earth" and I was shelling out money and wasting time while my kids played video games, most of which could be found at any arcade. Was very excited about this CS, but left dissappointed.

Individual Pepperoni Pizza $6.29

Caprese Salad - chopped Romaine, red and yellow grape tomatoes, mozzarella, kalamata olives, cucumber, fresh basil, and balsamic vinaigrette $6.89

Mixed Greens Salad $2.99

In my opinion, Pizza Planet is okay. It was way overpriced! It was seven dollars just for a small, four piece personal pizza. Don't go there if you are looking for a meal, but if you want a snack then go right ahead because the pizza wasn't that bad. And stay away from the salads unless you have money to blow because all they are is basically a piece of lettuce with a single cherry tomato and a packet of salad dressing for four dollars. :headache:
