We will be in Orlando in May. How are the crowds that time of year? I havce some knee issues and have trouble standing for long periods of time (20min +). Can I avoid long lines by doing a few things early?

Thanks
Wayne

May is a lovely time to be in Central Florida.

If you arrive at the parks about 30 mintues before they open, you will get quite a bit done before the lines start forming.

i have gone in the second week and third week of may before.

it was great for weather and crowds.

memorial weekend is one period i stay away due to crowds.

We are going from the 23rd to the 30th. Would you suggest skipping the first saturday we are there and going the 2nd since the firt is memorial day weekend? We'd still be inthe park on the sunday and monday of that weekend. Should we bother with that first saturday though? Or just use it to sightsee and get rested? (I fully intend on using all 7 days of my ticket! LOL! I just want to start it on the right day to make sure we use it to the fullest. ;) )

Wayne...I'm right there with you on the knee issues. *walking* is Ok, but *standing* wears it down eally fast.

I find that any weekend that is a 3 day one due to a monday holiday, brings in more crowds.

looking back over my journals of the past years, i was at the park the last week of may but left on the friday of that memorial 3 day weekend.
i did see more crowds starting on that day i left.

to get a current measure of anticipated crowds for the park on those 2 dates you mentioned, check the price of the express pass plus (aka epp) that is sold to the public.

the higher the cost for them is an indication of anticipated crowd levels.
