How is March at WDW?

Oh no! I knew it might be a little busy, but I had no idea it was that crowded.

Our favorite time to go to WDW was end of Feb and first week of March. That has always been a good time for us;ie, no Spring breakers yet.
We loved that time of year. We had warm weather 70's and very cold (for Florida) of 40 or 50's, so you have to pack both types of clothing.
Now? With the after covid and pent up travel, I really dont' think it will be a sweet spot anymore for travel. We always left before it got crowded with the big Spring break crowds. Now, it seems crowded all the time. Good luck.

Spring Break is all over the place during March and April. I live in a college town in Georgia and all the schools in the county and surrounding counties usually take their breaks when UGA does. This year it is March 7 through 11. Easter is late this year, April 17 so I'm assuming the weekend around that would be busy as well. I think it's really just throwing the dice and hoping for the best.

I'm not a fan of the weather in early March. It's still a little cold for this southern girl. I usually go the 2nd or third week in April. The weather is pretty good, not too hot and some showers (last year it rained the entire week I was there but oh well).

Is there a big need for ponchos/rain jackets in March? Still a lot of afternoon showers?
No afternoon thunder showers in March. You should know what the weather will be ahead of time. Before you leave for your trip you should know if you need parkas or shorts.

Absolutely, its just I was gonna order those cheap plastic ponchos on Amazon ahead of time if needed, so didn't wait to wait till the week before.

Second and third weeks are going to be top capacity at the parks. We’re going the second week and I’m have a lot of difficulty finding any good ADRs on the dot at the 60 day mark.

We are going March 6-11, and I got Space 220 Lounge, BOG, Topolino’s, Sci-Fi, Beaches & Cream, and Oga’s. I was surprised how much availability there was. I was prepared to take what I could get and relentlessly check and sign up for reservation finders. Thankfully that wasn’t needed. Maybe I’m checking in on the right day. We always go this week, and while it has most certainly grown in popularity over the years, it is very doable until about Thursday mid-day.

This is making me nervous. DD6 is off for March break from March 11 - March 27, which sounds like it’ll be hopping the whole time!! (We are in Canada, my understanding is that many schools have 1-2 weeks break in March.)

I was looking to see what was available March 10 (we're going the same week as you, Skyguy! :P) and there are BOG dinners still available!!

I think this bodes well for our week :)

Following. Going for March for the first time March 25 - April 2nd.

11th-16th for us. I was able to get great reservations for the 11th, but availability became progressively worse 12th and on. We’re also a party of 7 which has been significantly more difficult vs our usual party of 3. Sounds like you’ve got some wonderful dining experiences lined up! Enjoy!

We are going Mar 6-12 this year, our first time going in March and hoping that it will be lighter since most places don’t start Spring Break until the week after. In terms of weather I am lost on what to expect, we usually go mid to end of September so used to packing for hot. Guess we will see in 44 days. 😊

As mentioned by all previous posters, March/April are SB months.

May personal thought is the height is the 2nd week in March thru 3rd week in Apr so if I had to choose, I’d probably look at the 1st week in March.

Good luck and have fun.
We did go that week one year and the weather was beautiful, if not chilly one morning

My kids are in an independent school in Ontario and usually have the Ontario public school week plus the week after (so the same dates as your daughter this year). We don't go to Florida every year, but they are in grades 8 and 11 now so we've been doing this for awhile.

We almost always aim for the second week of their break. Both are always busy at the parks, but the later week seems to be a bit better, and reasonable airfare is easier to find.

Ontario March Break tends to line up with Texas. Florida schools vary by district but are usually that same week, or the week after. Obviously other areas come into play too, but those are the really big ones. Quebec is a couple of weeks earlier and the US Northeast seems to be all over the place.

Thanks! That is good to know. And hi fellow Ontarian :)

We’ll be there March 3-7 with park days Friday Saturday Sunday. It’s a mom and kids trip this time. Kids are 10 & 12. Hoping we can get a lot done and have fun! Didn’t realize it was Mardi Gras! Looks like that makes it even more crowded
