We have always gone the first week of May. This year will be our first visiting the last week of June. Any info on crowds, approx. wait times etc?

Thanks,

The last week of June leads into July 4 weekend and that is definitely the most crowded the parks will get all summer.

We did last week of June and left just before 4th of July, 3 years ago and doing it again this year.

The crowds are OK the last week of June - but get fast passes. Then as it gets closer to the July 4th - the crowds pour in.

Get your fill of MK before July 1st.

Then go to EPCOT or MGM STUDIO's from July 1st on.

AK is ok - but sometime the pathways get clogged with people with large crowds - AK does not have wide paths like EPCOT or MGM STUDIO's.

Also MK has know to close it's doors to guest by 1 pm on 4th of July.

We will be at the Poly from June 24 till July 1 this year. :boat:

Besides hot and likely thunderstorms the crowds get bigger as June goes on. We were there this past June 15-23. Although it was crowded earlier on, everything was manageable by getting to all the parks early and using Fast Passes.....along with much needed afternoon breaks.
Somewhere around the 21st or so the crowds got dramatically bigger. We tried park hopping but it made no difference....they were all extemely crowded. Since we already rode and did everything we wanted we were only re-doing some things, but found it almost impossible during the day. Don't even bother with the evening EMH.....more crowded than during the day.
If you get to the parks early you can accomplish a lot in a few hours.

I echo previous posts...It will be HOT, Humid and Crowded. Bring a large amount of Patience and prepare to be flexible with your schedule based on the wait times (which can be long).

Magic Kingdom will be the most crowded park, no matter when you go, but I would recommend avoiding MK on any FRI, SAT or SUN. If at all possible, do MK on a MON, TUES or WED for thinnest crowds. (Although crowds will still be significant – It’s just unavoidable that time of year)

Plan to take some breaks. Maybe go back to the POFQ and rest for an hour or two. The good news is…the parks are usually open quite late (at least 10:00pm) which will give you extra time to spend. You can also look to plan your park days based on the Extra Magic Hours available to you as a Resort guest.

In the Unofficial Guide to WDW, they list the 3rd week of June as a #7, which is the lowest that number gets all summer in the book. That is, he rates this week as the least crowded of the summer. I don't know how reliable that information is, but we are going that week also. We have been the first week of June and it wasn't too bad - weather wasn't TERRIBLY hot, crowds weren't bad, etc. Hope you have a great trip! ;)

we were there last June, the last week of the month for our first ever trip. It was very hot, but we planned for that and make sure we had lots of sunscreen and waterbottles.

The crowds were killer some of the days. I don't know that I would go back again in the summer unless I had no other option.

We found it very helpful to:

Get to the parks early. We were there about 1/2 hour or so before opening each day. There were still lots of people already there, but that allowed us to get on what we wanted first thing, then take it easy and rely on fast passes later on as the crowds grew. The crowds didn't get astronimical until around 10 or so most days. (Which coincidentally is when it started to get substantially hotter as well!

avoid the parks with early morning hours. This tip came from the unofficial guide. The park with early hours is typically going to be the most busy for that day, We also avoided late hours as well.

Resign yourself to the fact that even if you've been able to do it all before, you probably won't with the sheer volume of others trying to do it all too. Make up your "must-do" list, your ""would be nice to do" list, and your "not this time" list ahead of time then stick to it while still being flexible to those oh-so-wonderful spontaneously delicious Disney moments as much as you can, and everyone will be a little happier.

Stay hydrated!!!!

Expect rudeness, and be kind in return. You'll feel better about yourself, allowing less stress to build, and you never know how your kindness may change how someone else reacts later to someone else.

Don't "sweat" (ha ha!) the small stuff.

Enjoy!

We are headed down 6/24-7/1 Figuring that 7/1 would be the start of the real crowds and we will be on our way home.

We went the last week of July a few years back and found the days very managable provided we took the 1-3 break to rest and pool.
