This will be our first time we normally go to Ohana. What is your fave entree and desert, how is the service?

I only have been here for breakfast and Love it . But my parents love this place. They go every trip. And they are pickey since they got older and they love it.

Are you going for dinner? I LOOOOOVE the food there. My favorite dinner is the tuna oscar. It's my favorite meal in all of Disney. My hubby had the steak and while he enjoyed it, he'd probbaly opt for the tuna next time. the wings there (appy) are also awesome)!

For dessert, I had the Kona Cone - mostly because I had seen it in so many pics and had to try it for myself. While I liked it... it was just standard ice cream.

Kona is in our top 5 of Disney restaurants, without a doubt. Kona consistently provides awesome food and service, much more so than their counterpart, Ohana. We always get the terriyaki steak and it's amazing!! Pictures are actually in my dining report below my signature if you want a view. Enjoy! :thumbsup2

We went to Kona for the first time last month while staying at SOG. We liked our Tonga Toast so much that we went two more times for breakfast, and one for dinner.
I had an noodle dish for dinner, which was okay. My husband had coconut crusted chicken, which we both loved.
They brought out special little cream puff desserts for our 25th annivesary.
Definitely will be visiting Kona on our next trip!

We really enjoyed it for both breakfast and dinner in January. I got an almond chicken dish that was very good.

We have been to both Breakfast and Dinner and loved it both times. The Tonga Toast is amazing :lovestruc for breakfast. For our dinner I had the shrimp and scallops (I have a thing for scallops) and my DH had the mahi mahi which he loved as well. For our starter course we had the pot stickers which were very good (this was the first time we ever had a pot sticker and now we are hooked) and for dessert I had the chocolate Fondue, which to me is one of my favorite desserts in all of Disney. Kona Cafe is definately a restuarant that we will be going back to.

My "meal" at the Kona Cafe is the chicken noodle soup, the Hawaiian sweet bread, and the Kona Cool Sundown (alcoholic beverage). So yummy!

Kona is awesome. The sticky wing apps are fabulous. You can't go wrong with the tuna oscar and pomegranate barbecue pork chop for entrees. And, the Kona Kone is nice for dessert. Before you are seated, the hostess takes you to a dessert display and explains each one...so you'll know what might suit your fancy after the meal. I have no doubt you will really enjoy the food here. The first time we visited Kona was because we couldn't secure ressies at O'hana. Now, Kona is one of our favorites.

Loved the sticky wings and the tuna oscar! We have only been there once but it was fabulous food and not so fabulous service...we will go back though and try it again. As with everywhere at WDW (minus V&A!!) the service can be hit or miss.

I had the steak teriyaki and it was absolutely amazing. Our service was not great, unfortunately. My family did not like the atmosphere or the service, so we didn't go back to Kona on our last trip....but I thought the food was incredible.

The atmosphere did feel a little like being in a food court since it's opened to the lobby but the food was great.

After paying for buffets and family styles meals, it felt like a better deal not having to pay for soup to dessert.

Okay, so it still wasn't cheap but I felt more like I was only paying for what I wanted over the all inclusive meals where I felt like I had to try everything I was paying for.

The breakfast really felt like a bargain after paying for character meals on our other mornings!

AWESOME!

I had the shrimp & scallops and DH had the chicken. Both were fantastic. Everyone in our party then got the chocolate fudge volcano cake ala mode. HOLY COW - the best!

We have eaten at Kona at least twice during our trip every year for the last 5 years and the food has been great. DH usually gets the steak teriyaki and the mahi mahi. I used to get the filet (no longer on the menu) and was nervous about ordering the coconut almond chicken it was awesome. I ordered it both times we went last year and will probably do the same this year. The bread and macadamia nut butter is the best. I would be happy with a spoon and a bowl of butter for my meal. The chocolate fondue is my desert and DH gets the kona cone.

So glad to hear the great reviews about Kona! I'll be eating dinner there for my birthday and was hoping it would be well worth it:thumbsup2.

We were at WDW June 7 thru 14th and had alot of decent table service ADR's
and Kona was my favorite hands down. I had the steak and loved it!

We were there a couple weeks ago. DH had the terriyaki steak and I had the rib eye. DH liked his and I thought my rib eye was the best steak I have ever had onsite or offsite. We both had the Kona cone for dessert and liked that also. Kona was our best meal of the trip.

We love Kona....

WOW Bentley thanks so much for the pic just want I wanted! LOl Now what is the first pic? Anyone had the scallop and shrimp how are they and someone tell me more about the coconut almond chicken

My son had the chicken and loved it. Very tasty and unique. The flavors do not over power the chicken, they just enhance it. I had the tuna and it was very high grade (keep in mind that it is a thick cut and will be very rare by default unless you say otherwise...). The macadamia nut butter with the bread was outstanding and the shrimp soup was good. The service was good. There is noise from the lobby and from those waiting for Ohana, but it is now in our top three.
