How is Jet Blue?

We have usually flown on Southwest and in the past Delta...never Jet Blue. Can anyone tell me how Jet Blue compares to them? Trying to fly out from Hartford CT (Bradley) and Southwest shows nearly every date sold out for our day leaving and a super high rate for our return date. Delta doesn't do direct to MCO anymore. Jet Blue rates are better but am nervous about trying them before hearing some reviews. Appreciate any help.

We've flown Jet Blue for years and love them. We especially like when we can purchase the extra leg room seats (DH is over 6') because it also allows us early boarding (and access to the overhead storage) as well as priority access through security at the Westchester airport. We find the seats roomier than most airlines even without the extra 4" leg room option.

We've been on jetblue, delta, southwest, Jetblue is far the best and we are also from the northeast. JetBlue has bigger seats, free tv for everyone, friendly service and you can pick your seats. The plans are smaller too 2 seats on each side no middle row and jetblue always arrives quicker than they quote you and is usually nonstop.

I think Jetblue has two sizes of planes. I've flown out of Boston a couple of times and the seating was 3 seats on each side.

I usually fly Southwest because I like to fly out of Manchester, NH but i do love flying Jetblue. You'll enjoy Jetblue.

JetBlue is always my preferred flying choice. Pick your own seats, extra leg room seats, satellite TV, good food/bev options, best customer service(usually). I am not the biggest fan of flying but I always feel the most comfortable when I fly with Jetblue

I have tried to fly JetBlue twice. Both times my flight times were so drastically changed I was allowed to refund my fare and go elsewhere. Changing my arrival time to 17 hours later is not going to fly with me.
Also, their routings from the West Coast are not fantastic. No a big fan of flying to NYC to get to Florida (this may have changed, but when I was trying to fly them, that was the route)

This isn't correct; the only 2 seat configuration on JetBlue is on the Embraer E-190. Their other planes are the Airbus 320 and Airbus 321, which have a 3-3 configuration. It is true that their seats are a bit wider than Southwest's.

It's true that JetBlue's flights from the west to east coast are usually red-eyes, but if the OP is flying from MA, JetBlue would be fine.

^^This^^ :thumbsup2 .

It's our preferred airline. Dh is 6'7" and fits well in the extra legro seats and are much cheaper than flying first class on other airlines. With two 4 year olds the free tv is a huge bonus for us. They have always been on time and easy to deal with. Last year when we had to add dd2 last minute (she was our foster child then and we were waiting for travel permission) they helped us find four seat together and waives the fee to book her on the phone.

Just back from WDW, and used Jet Blue Newark to MCO.

What a pleasure! My last flight was on United, EWR to LAX. It was HORRIBLE, one one of the new "slim fit" planes. Just beyond awful. I will never fly United again, and will try and make sure I am never on that model of plane again either. (you could not even fit a book or water bottle in the seat back pocket, no space. My knees were about an inch from the seat in front , and I am 5'5" tall.) 5 1/2 hour nonstop, I was in hell.

SW planes have never bothered me, I am usually fine with my little pocket of space in coach….. Jet Blue wonderful, space, comfortable leather seats, and free TV!

I've flown SW, Delta, AirTran and JB to MCO...as well as some to Sanford. JB is my airline of choice now. I fly out of Boston, Providence and Worcester (although until they get all the needed instrumentation in, flying out of Worcester can iffy). I love JB....if (when) they make a change to flight times, they are very easy to work with in getting you times you need. They changed my flights in/out of Worcester in November to times that just weren't going to work. I am now flying out of Boston at the times I want...with no change fee or addtl cost.

Looking forward to flying out of Providence on JB on Sunday!!!

We fly jet blue or delta.

I prefer jet blue from BDL since it's direct to MCO though. My kids love the TV, ok my son more so!

Last August we did the extra leg room. I cringed at the price but I only did it for the return and when we got to MCO at about 5 or so and saw that very long security line, I told myself the extra $150 was worth it (there are 5 of us). We got to bypass that security line and go to the first class, no wait line.

People ask me why I won't fly southwest...um...I like to know where my seats are when I buy my ticket.

We had more leg room tickets but somehow missed the more speed security line. Is it marked "first class" or some identifying mark? We have more leg room seats on two upcoming flights this fall and would like to take advantage this time. Thanks.

We only fly Jet Blue or United. We love them both. If you get a United plane with TV, it's better than Jet Blue. Both airlines have always had great flights for us.

Agreed with all of the above. Plus, their terminal at my home airport (JFK) is pretty nice. :thumbsup2

I pretty much only fly JetBlue to WDW.

We flew TO LAX from Newark on one of United's older type planes with the TVs. It was fine. The flight back was absolute hell, on the new A320 Slimfit. Beware this plane, it is beyond awful. I guess you might be able to see which plane it is when you book, I would guess this particular plane has at least one extra row squeezed into the plane, which is why it is so awful. Plus the new seats with 1/2" padding.

I guess all airlines have their issues, but I like SW the best, with 2 free bags, and the ability to change flights without penalty. But Jet Blue is close.

The recent JD Powers report on airline quality ranked Jet Blue #1 in the discount carrier class. I believe Southwest was #2. Alaska was rated #1 for traditional airlines.

We've flown JB out of BDL the last two trips in Oct. Before that, we usually did Delta or SWA. JB opens up it's new schedule before SWA and we were anxious to secure reasonable tickets, so we tried JB. Wish they flew to other parts of the country that we visit!!! One bag free, we've been offered extra snacks, TVs, seats are more comfortable, and we've been very satisfied with employees and customer service. We booked as soon as dates were released, which was about 8 months in advance, and flight times did change, from 10 to 45 minutes. It always seemed to work in our favor.
I recommend JB highly!

We fly JetBlue or United from Newark to Orlando and would choose either airline based on price and flight times.
On May 9th we took the 5PM flight to Orlando. Airport was a zoo since Newark has a major runway under construction. We eventually took off at 6PM and landed around 8:30PM. We waited 1/2 hour at baggage claim and no luggage came out. We get an intercom message for the entire flight to go to JB luggage office. Whoops, none of the luggage from Newark made it to Orlando. It was put on the last flight out of Newark and arrived at Orlando after 10:30PM. They were not offering any meal tickets or compensation so we waited for the luggage. They did give us a $50 luggage delay credit to our JB account after we returned home. Customer service was ok in handling the luggage problem, and we will fly with them again. Things happen...We were going on the Disney Fantasy the following AM and I was worried that we would not get our luggage in time. Another good reason to fly in the night before for your Disney Cruise.
