How is Jacksonville Florida to live in?

Some searches on the web show it to have high crime and not the best schools. Anyone from the area who might have some more information?

I did a comparison with Madison, Wisconsin and found the crime rate to be double in Jacksonville and the $$ spent per student to be half of what Madison spends. I got this from movingvan.com and was just curious as to its accuracy for doing reseraches on places to live.
