I emailed recently and Disney told me that BB would be open during the upcoming refurb.

Disney said BB is open even though the ride is not. But if they have the water drained, that won't be much of a view lol

When we ate at BB we had a seat by the fence/gate that separates the restaurant from the ride. The tables are so far from the water that you can't even see the water. Plus it's a dark atmosphere. We could see the boats pass and ppl would wave at us. I honestly didn't feel like a restaurant inside the ride was anything special. If it looked over the cannon fight scene that would have been cool. I don't think it will have any impact on the feel of BB.

Nah. If the ride is up or not shouldn't effect. You may not be next to rail anyways so view is debatable. It's quiet so no noise from boats. The boats to me are inconsequential. The ambience of being in the dusky interior with lanterns overhead and trees wouldn't detract if the boats were MIA.

Believe me, if the boats are not present, you will enjoy the scenery even more. I know I have.
Now, if the bayou has been drained, I would envision that as being really quite ugly to see, while dining.

Exactly! ! I once asked my wait person if I may throw a bun at the passengers, and was told yes. Ah....love it!
Now, the only reason why I had not, is because I like my buns, especially with butter, too much to waste on a bunch of ol scallywag, cotton pickin, landlubbers!

Please post when you return and let us know how it was. I have ressies for the week after you and am thinking about cancelling. I didn't realize the ride would be closed until after I made them. Have a great trip!
