Hiya

I am arranging our families 2011 trip. I am thinking SSR or villa.

I am in two minds at the moment. One because Complete Orlando is £1,000 cheaper than wdtc. I am not sure if I am happy to book with them. The problems I am thinking of hiring a villa is:

Parking at the parks? After closing how have you found this? At times we have waited 3 bus loads before finally getting on a bus and the kids standing and being crushed.

How is it taking a break from the parks? We are so used to grabbing a bus to take us to the hotel and park hopping. How is it getting back to the villa? Do you have to pay parking again?

Does driving stop you from getting to the park opening time easily? Do the car parks open early enough.

sorry to ask so many questions I am just thinking what to do so I can start booking accomodation for next yr.

Many thanks.

First let me reassure you that driving in Florida is as easy as most people on here will tell you. All of the parks are very well sign posted, if you get a villa the owners generally leave directions in the villas and will email you everythng you need in advance if you need it. And if you take a satnav with US maps on it becomes even easier :thumbsup2
Also once you have paid to park in one Disney park you can use the same ticket for all of the Disney parks that day.

We stay onsite and always drive to the parks - I don't "do" public transport in any form, even if it is Disney!!!! We find it very quick, as we don't waste time waiting around for buses. The only exception is MK where we sometimes get the buses as it can take ages to get the monorail / ferry over to MK, whereas the buses obviously go straight there. The carparks are always open early, we've never missed ropedrop.

The whole Disney area is really well sign posted, though, same as the PP, we have uploaded Florida maps onto our satnav and use that a lot!

We have never had a problem parking at the parks. We usually arrive at ropedrop and park fairly near the front. Car parks are huge though so I can't imagine you would ever have a problem any time of day. We usually return to the parks in the evening and - again - have never had a problem finding parking, In fact, because so many cars will have left by then we usually end up near the front again!
