The only restaurant available for FDP on the night we're going is H & V. How is this place? We usually go to full service restauramts but we have gone to Crystal Palace and liked it. Is H&V comparable?

Hey last year the 9people in our party (6 adults and 3 children) went to H&V for our character breakfast and it was great, the food was amazing, the service was great and everyone really enjoyed it. I don't know what it would be like for a full meal but we really enjoyed our breakfast, dont know if thats any help :)

Thank you!
Has anyone on the boards been there for dinner?

We have eaten dinner at H&V and I truly preferred it over CMs, the 1900 PF, and the CP. (My family does not agree about it being their favorite - but they DID like it very much!)

I think that you will be very happy there. :)

We went there for dinner with the fantasmic package last year and enjoyed it very much. The food was good and hot and the service was great. To us it was very much worth the package though that it has now changed, I'm not sure we will do it this time.

Jordan's MOM? How has it changed? Are you talking about the buffet, or the FDP?

Thanks, that's reassuring. DisneyBride I look forward to your review. Enjoy!

Sorry Beth, Had to reread both our post to see what you meant. The fantasmic dinner package is now a set price that is higher that the buffet dinner cost on it's own. In the past there was no other cost added to the package other that the cost of the meal. Hollywood & Vine is the least expensive of the three choices for the package and is still worth it if you are going during a busy time of year. Last year, even though we had the package pass we were able to have our choice of seats and the place never filled up. This however was off season. We are doing the MVMCP and hope to do the CP and we want to try Prime Time cafe this year some this package is just taking a back seat this year as we just grab some fast food and get there early for a seat. I think you will be happy with H&V.

Thanks for the explanation J's MOM. :)

I did not realize that there was an additional "surcharge" for getting the FDP. You are correct, when we last went to H&V in 2001, we only paid the regular buffet price and got the Fantasmic Seating tickets.

I do not know if we would be willing to pay that much extra (does anyone know the price?) just to get the special seating. :)

I just booked this package for the FDP and even though I was expecting a surcharge I don't think we are paying one. She quoted me $19.99 for adults and $9.99 for kids. She even gave me a grand total with my confirmation number. I sure hope there are no surprises when we get the bill...

I was also quoted the regular price when I booked. Probably a mistake.

I have been charged $74.61..which is $19.99 for each adult and $9.99 for each child plus tax (H&V)......I didnt know there was a surcharge for FDP now. I wasnt told by the CM at WDW-DINE either (I guess he though I knew)....when will I be charged for this then?? I am now wondering whether to bother...we will be there 6/19 thru 7/3 which I heve been led to beleive is BUSY.

Any thoughts or comments??
Allie.

pkg.......three weeks ago......the buffet was delicious and we enjoyed it .........the price was just under 45.00 for both of us.....it was all you could eat buffet and also our drinks were included......except the specialty drinks.....the dessert bar was great too.......last year we did the same buffet....a little cheaper..but still great.....and we had a vegetarian.......a ww dieter.......two fussy kids......an elderly person and of course hubby and me who would eat anything......but this was good......

I just booked on Friday for 6/28 and I was quoted the same 19.99 and 9.99 that it costs for the dinner buffet. I think the only difference here is that you have to guarantee it with a CC because if you are a no show they would have been able to fill that table with a FDP. Although I have never eaten here, my parents did during our Easter trip and they raved about it. They seemed to enjoy it much more than CM, CP and 1900 Park Fair.

OK, call me brain dead but where is H&V better yet what resturant is it? :D

We have eaten at H&V before and enjoyed it (very sad it is no longer a character meal though). I like the fact that my DD gets to eat real food rather than mac cheese and chicken tenders!! She really enjoyed the noodles, sweet potatoes and vegetables.

I know for Mama Melrose and Brown Derby the FDP package only includes certain items on the menu, but obviously that cant be done with H&V.

Oh, well. I guess I will find out in 6 weeks time!

PS. Hollywood & Vine is at Disney -MGM studios.

Thanks everyone for your help! Sounds like we'll enjoy it.

Our kids love this place, especially my picky eater. This is a good choice for dinner.

Hollywood & Vine is right next to the 50's Primetime Cafe towards the Indiana Jones stunt show as you come from the front.

My son and I have eaten at H&V regularly and have always enjoyed it. I'm sad that the characters meals have gone away but at least they still serve dinner, thank goodness.
