How is early morning hours (paid) effecting the Be Our Guest PPO ADR in relation to 7DMT?

I currently have an 8am BOG PPO ADR. I did this specifically so that our group could ride the mine train without a fastpass. I belive your first ride of the day should always replace a fastpass of you have the ability to do so.

I booked this before the EMMH were announced and now that people can pay money to ride the 7DMT I assume the BOG people will have to wait.

I have four friends who went to Disney at seperate times and did the PPO BOG and all of them were allowed to ride Mine Train before the park opened, but this was before the new paid hour was announced.

My question is for anyone who has done the BOG PPO ADR and were not allowed to ride before the park opened.
-Where did they make you wait?
-When the park opened and you were finally able to go to Mine Train was the line very long due to the paid people in line already?

Any advice is appreciated.

There have been several threads and bog posts about this. Short answer is that EEM has had no effect on BOG diners getting on SDMT before the RD crowd arrives.

I read one report recently of the PPO BOG people having to wait until park opening to ride 7DMT on a morning where EMM is happening, which to me seems the only fair way to approach it. On a non EMM, then all reports are no change in the 7DMT availability pre-RD.

ITA! I just assumed this is how they'd handle it until I saw this thread!!

I've also heard it hasn't really effected things at all. The number of tickets they're selling for EMM is pretty minimal, so it's not like SDMT is going to be clogged with those people. And even if the BOG folks aren't let in that area until the park opens, you still have a good head start over those at the front of the park.

ITA, even if they don't allow the BOG PPO people in the queue until opening time, you're still getting on there with no wait. But, last year I rode 7DMT 3 times before rope drop with a PPO BOG ADR (holy geez, that needs more acronyms!) because we were allowed to start queuing 15 minutes before RD - that I would guess will no longer be possible on an EMM day.

We were held in front of BoG at the corner where you would turn to go to the Mine Train. A CM organized a line there. She told us that we could not access the Mine Train early that day because of EMM.

Eventually they walked the line down and let us into the stand-by queue. We got to fill into the queue before the rope drop crowd got there. EMM guests were using the FP queue (although we didn't see any). They let us start boarding about the time the rope drop crowd started to arrive - some time between 8:50 and 8:55.

*To clarify: no the line was not long because there were literally no EMM guests in the FP queue when we started boarding. We were off before 9:00.

So that is a significant change.

Yes, we had friends there last week with PPO BOG and the group coming out of BOG was held until park open. It wasn't made clear initially to the group waiting at first why they were held, as there clearly were people on 7DMT already, and some people at the front were getting rude with the CM.

I would like to take pictures after breakfast and can't tell if they would actually let me leave the BOG area or not. So, was everyone required to stay in front of BOG, or just the people who wanted to ride 7DMT? Thanks

Not really... Doing 3 rides was pixie dust. I did 2 ppo bog and got only 1 ride just before rode drop crowd arrived (That was last September) and I also have friends who got no ride at all, they made them wait untill rope drop crowd arrived before letting them queue up.

Getting a ppo adr is to go eat. You never know if you'll get to ride or not. The ride might even not be running at park opening if they have a problem with it.

We were not allowed to "wander" in Fantasyland. While we were waiting, I asked the CM who was organizing the line whether she knew if the FP kiosks were turned on at that point. She didn't know, and told me I could walk over to Philharmagic to see. I was intercepted before I could get there, my question was answered (no, not on yet), and I was politely turned around.

You are allowed to go back through the castle and wander on Main Street. Of course, then you run the risk of losing your time advantage.

I think the norm is 1-3 rides with a PPO. EEM seems to suggest 0-1 ride with a PPO. I think that's significant. It doesn't matter if you believe going to BOG is simply to go to eat. The reality is, most people who were amongst the first in, finished their breakfast quickly and got 2-3 rides on 7DMT.

Maybe for you. We got a PPO ADR because we only had one day and we wanted to maximize our time and start riding as early as possible.

Multiple rides were not the case for anyone I know who has done it. Everyone I know (my sister's family, two coworkers of my husband, a college friend) who has done this at my advice in the last six months or so got one ride on the Mine Train. My sister was there in April and they were the first people out - on a non-EMM day - and were held in a line the same way were on an EMM day in May.

I am going to have to think hard about this. I might cancel and try on a different trip on a non-EMM day. I can't reorganize my schedule at this point. DH and I could take or leave 7DMT. I just don't think it's all that. We have an FP+ for it already. Thanks

I've done early MK ADRs for YEARS, several mornings each trip. Maybe I'm alone, but we never COUNTED ON one or several rides before everyone else.

We often got to do one as the first few in line before those at the front of the park made it, which is great.

You never know if you might wait longer to be seated or take a little longer to get out.

I guess I'm surprised people are counting on this. And certainly with a paid morning event, I wouldn't count on anything except likely being in line before most people from the front of the park make it there.

I'm sorry. Who said there were COUNTING on it? Anyone?

No need to get testy. I interpreted some posts (here and in similar threads) as suggesting this was something they were expecting, and something they worried might now go away with a paid event.

I have never expected it. That was my only point. Pretty simple.

Thank you!
We are just trying to get ahead of the crowds and I hope it pays off! We are going the second week of September so hopefully crowds won't be terrible regardless.
