Hi
I was wondering how the Villas are bout special needs, I have very bad allergies, cigerette smoke, perfumes, aftershaves etc can really set them off making me very uncomfortable to making had to breath.
The last time I was at the world the staff at the Poly was great, they did what they called a VIP cleaning on the room changing all linens and bedspreads, when washing them they washed them in a none scented detergent etc. Can I expect the same from DVC if staying in one of the Villas? Would not make it a very enjoyable vacation if my sinuses are shut down and asthma kicks up for entire trip.

Thanks in Advance Dave

at dealing with most peoples needs. But I do remember my guide saying that DVC is best for people who can be flexible with their travel plans. I think this means you may not be guaranteed a ns room or ha room if they are not available at check in. I have not read about the VIP cleaning before, but it might be available at DVC. For the sheets and linens, there are w/d in the 1/2/3 bedroom villas. You could bring your own special detergent and do it yourself, if DVC cannot do it for you.
It sounds like the poly really went all out for you. Glad you were able to enjoy that great resort.

I've never noticed any fragrances from soaps and cleaning products, so I'm thinking they don't use scented products anyway. DVC shares the main linen laundry facility with other Disney resorts. As far as smoking room, it is a request, but not a guarantee. However, due to your hypersensitivity, you may want to ask Member Services to note it as a medical request, then inquire if the Disney special needs office has the ability to block specific rooms at DVC resorts.

I also have allergies.

I have never been put in a smoking room at any DVC resort. I had to fight for one at the HH - they were bound and determined to put me in a smoking room because the view was better.

between my allergies and a better view - my allergies win!!!

I also have a ton of food allergies - so DVC is GREAT for me. I can cook my own meals and I know what is in the food that I eat.

91% of the villas at OKW are now non-smoking. when I first joined it was half and half.

So Disney is trying to make it better for their members.

oh I have been a member since 93 and I normally stay at a DVC resort 3 or 4 times a year. (some years more)
