Thinking of trying this one out while in Epcot, how is the food? How is the character interaction?

Are you referring to Garden Grill in the Land in Epcot?

This features Chip, Dale, Pluto and Farmer Mickey. The character interaction was wonderful. Food was good too. It is served family style so you get to stay in your seats. The kids get cupcakes to decorate for dessert.

We liked it

We ate at Garden Grill last July and really enjoyed it. Character interaction and food were both great! We have reservations for December Candlelight Processional dinner. We are looking forward to seeing Chip, Dale & Mickey again!

I love it! If there weren't so many other restaurants we wanted to try, I'd do it twice a trip :thumbsup2 . It's on our "must do" for sit-downs every trip though. The character interaction is great, food is wonderful and it's not as chaotic and noisy as other character meals. I really like the setup.

I wasn't too impressed with the food, but the character interaction was great!:thumbsup2

I love it!

It's nice to have character meal where the food is brought to you and you don't have to get up to get it. The characters are always really generous at this restaurant. DD loves Chip n Dale so this is a real treat for her.

We are returning again on our next vacation and we cannot wait!

We've done this one a lot and have loved it every time. I think it has some of the best character interaction in WDW! Chip and Dale are just too cute!

We had dinner there July 16 and loved it. Characters each come by at least twice and spend more time than they do at many of the other character meals. The food was very good. DH loved the dessert in particular, and my kids had a blast with the cupcakes. I'd do it again.

We weren't impressed with the food at all. Actually- the service was really bad as well. The characters were great though! The kids enjoyed the revolving restaurant. Sadly- we won't go back.

The food and service were some of the worst I have experienced at WDW. The character interaction was out of this world. But we won't be returning again.

I am glad that so many of you enjoyed this restaurant. We will be going there on our trip next week! That will be our first time at that rest.

The character interaction was great, but the food was by far the worst we had all week. Dessert is good though.

The character interaction was terrific. The food and the service was he worst we have ever experienced in WDW.

What was bad about the food?

It had very little taste. The veggies were barely cooked and we couldn't eat them, even though we usually eat them al dente. The turkey was slimey and fatty. It wasn't inedible, but it certainely wasn't good. The cheesy potatoes and the sauce that came with the flank steak were okay.

Now I read negative posts before I went and I almost cancelled, but our server was wonderful, always on top of things, I think you can get poor service almost anywhere if you get the wrong person.

I also was pleasantly surprised by the food. I am usually pretty picky but I thought the turkey tasted good, although I scraped the cranberry sauce away, I actuall tried the catfish and liked it, and I like the cheesy potatoes a lot. DH is a real foodie and always comments on if the food was good and he really liked it and we got seconds. DS9 ate the green beans from our adult tray which was great to get some veggies in him since he didnt like the raw veggies served with allt he kids meals and the kids got chicken fingers and mac and cheese and were happy too.

We just went at the beg of May so I dont know if they improved things or if we lucked out but we really enjoyed this meal and I am so gald I did not cancel.

DH and I just ate there on Thursday. It was our first character meal. We were quite pleased. We got there an hour early for our ADR but didn't even wait 5 minutes to be seated. Interaction was great. They all stopped to pose for pics with each of us. We don't have any kids so they treated us like big kids. However, it was extremely noisy. Our server was great. He brought us stuff even before we asked for it. The food was quite good. Veggies were a little salty but the steak was the best and that dessert was yummy. The pastry with the custard filling and berries all over it was so good we wished we had left room for more of it. We both left there stuffed. I just wasn't crazy about the noise.

Last Aug we ended up there, everyone hungry and grumpy, without an ADR. At first they said they couldn't get us in and as we walked away one of the CM's called my DH back and they got us right in. It was the highlight of our trip. Everyone ate, DH (not a fish person) tried the catfish and loved it. Talked about it the rest of the trip. Our server was fantastic, gave DS then 9a hint about the hidden mickey in the mural. Chip & Dale were a riot, spent a lot of time at the table. We left with very full tummies and all back in magical moods :wizard:

Couldn't get an ADR for our June trip but we're going for our Candlelight Proc dinner in Dec.

FANTASTIC!
We went on the Candlelight proc package last Dec. Thought the food was great - well prepared and tasty. The server was excellent - explained all about the food and where it came from (some was grown in The Land etc). The character interaction was the best we've experienced - the characters came to the tables, joked around and spent time interacting and taking photos and that was whether you were 3 or 93 - just as it should be! Also thought the fact the restaurant revolved around scenes from The Land was pretty cool.
IMHO definitely worth the visit!
