How is Big Thunder Mountain?

I don't do big drops, like on most roller coasters, but I had heard that BTMR was not like that, just more smaller ups and downs and jerking you around. Is this the case, or is there a big drop that I haven't been told about?

VERY jerky. No big drops! I can't ride it more than twice w/o getting a bad headache.

Absolutely love this ride!! If you want a more exciting ride sit in the last car. The front seems to be calmer IMO

I can't handle roller coasters...... really have never been on one but love thunder mountain very fast and not scary at all!!! I rode it 5 times in a row my last trip... Give it a try you'll love it!!

Big Thunder is a tame coaster. Fast and jerky, but tame. No big drops or twists or rolls. Just a fun coaster.

Is it the jerkiness that gives you a headache? I ask because I have chronic headaches. Maybe I will ask to be close to the front, and wait another cycle if I need to.

My daughter is not a big fan of roller coasters ( mainly because of things like big drops and upside down spirals ) but she loves Thunder Mountain. It is the first ride we have to do when we get to Disneyworld. No big drops...just fast and jerky..

It's been my DS favorite MK ride since he was 3yo. I'm not a coaster person, but even I can handle this one (only with my eyes closed each time since I don't deal well with heights). I've had to do it as many as seven times in one day with my DS. I do agree it's jerky though, but no really bad drops. The slight drops seem to end in a turn which makes them even less noticeable.

I also cannot go on anything with a drop and I love thunder railroad. It is one of my favorite rides in Disney. It has hills, but you go down them slowly, then speed up once you are down the hill.

I love big drops (or VERY fast speeds or inversions) on coasters, and BTMRR is a big disappointment for me.
