I'd like to eat here for lunch, but I'm a little worried about being bothered too much. I absolutely LOVE humor, however a little goes a long way...I don't want to be pestered the entire meal. How often does the waiter/waitress come by your table? Hubby is introverted, so he would be uncomfortable being bothered too often. BUT the menu here looks pretty good, so I wanted to try it. Advice?

Not really that often. When they take your order and what not, they may give you a hard time about your elbows on the table or not eating your veggies, but its not a constant thing.

We have been to Prime Time four times that I can remember off hand. 1 Server was a riot (but not in a pestering way) and two of them were a lot of fun, one was very efficient but not into the role at all.

The time we had the hilarious server, two ladies at the table next to us (tables are close together here) mentioned to him they didn't know it was themed this way and that they didn't wish to participate and he said no problem and just waited on them withouth the antics.

I enjoy it very much and I am one of those that typically doens't go for this type of thing.

I have been there four times before and found the servers to be funny and very much into character, but they were not to much over the top in your face about their rules of the restaurant.

We must look mean and scary because we've never had any antics here and we've dined here more than 4 times. I've seen other tables with a lot more going on (a dad had to stand in the corner, a dad had to sing row row row your boat in the middle of the restaurant, etc) but we've had nothing like that at our table.

They will play with you as much as you play with them. If you don't play, they will go easy on you. If you do, Look OUT! :)

It depends on who you get. Sometimes you get the most over the top, into it server, other times they barely say anything. The main two things they talk to people about is keeping your elbows off the table and eating all your vegetables. Sometimes they will stand and watch to make sure you take a bite. It's all done in good fun, not too forceful. It doesn't really go beyond that unless you get someone who is super into it.

Just a note too, you can let them know before you sit down that you are uncomfortable about the situation, and they will not bother you. We like the craziness, so we've never done it, but i've heard many people say they just let them know they weren't into it and everything was fine.

When we went, our waitress hardly interacted with us at all. She threw our straws and silverware on the table, and that was it. I think it just depends on who you get. We noticed some other tables that had more extroverted waiters, but we were just fine with our "quiet" one.

I agree.

The servers are pretty good at reading the customers. Though if you don't want ANY extra attention this is probably not the place to go.

If you really want to try the food but don't want to be bothered with the "show", I would recommend sitting at the bar. My DH and I do this all the time now since it's full service anyway. We wait for a seat and then have some nice adult beverages while eating what I consider the best comfort food at WDW. I never leave anything on my plate.

This is a MUST DO for every trip!

In 2008 we had a wonderful server named Lookili. He really bonded with my son (who was 9 at the time). So much so that when we went last year, we waited so we could have him again.
If we do DDP this next time (believe it or not we still are torn between DDP and QSDP) we will go and ask for him again--his wife was pregnant last year and we want to know what they had!! :goodvibes

Ive been 3 times. The first time we had the waitress from hell! (not really, but her "character" was) She literally made my son and husband get up from the table and go to the bathroom to wash their hands. Son thought it was funny, my husband was not amused. When they got back, she inspected their hands and asked what color the soap was to make sure they really did it. She also told my son he had to eat everything on his plate beforehe could order dessert. He was like 7 or 8 at the time and did not get the humor and was really sad, almost in tears, because he wanted ice cream, but did not want to finish his ENORMOUS serving of chicken. After I realized he took this seriously, I told him she was kidding.

Second time there, we got a couple of jokes, nothing extreme like the first time. Third time we were there, the place was packed and our waitress barely had time to take our order, never mind hang around at the table socializing. It all depends on who you get and how busy they are.

I have to say that the food is YUMMY! The portions are more than enough to fill you up for the day or night. Great place to go if your only planning on 1 TS per day.

DH and I love this place! The first time we went our server was boring, but the other two times have been a blast. Our server was fantastic last summer when our friends and their DS were with us. Especially since the adults were all "raiding Dad's cabinet" We had a blast. The food is fantastic, the portions are enormous and it's a fun place to eat. as others have mentioned, if you don't wish to participate, the bar is a good idea and you can let your server know that it's not your thing and they do respect that.

We haven't eaten here for a few years.

The food was really good & we really enjoyed it ,there were a few jokes about elbows on the table etc at the start of the meal & my neice left some green beans on her plate -she was 16 at the time -the server made the plane with a fork full of green beans & tried to feed them to my neice -she was not at all impressed -I thought it was very funny lol.

I haven't been allowed to book there again since though.it seems she really holds a grudge.

I think they play with you as much as you play with them. We were giving our server a hard time and he gave it right back to us! :rotfl: The server in the section next to us appeared not into her role at all. I think it's the luck of the draw on your server, if you get someone over the top just tell them you don't want to participate. If you want someone who will make you laugh, ask for "Uncle Tim"!!!! :lmao:

We've eaten there only once and our server was just that, a server. She didn't play with people but she was fast.

The food was mediocre so we haven't been back. It could be what we ordered though.

Both times we have been here we have had great interaction...not too over the top but still very fun. This past trip I did get in trouble for chewing gum though..so fun! :)

We've been there a few times, I think it depends on who you get but we've never had or seen anybody over the top. BTW, the pot roast is DELICIOUS! :thumbsup2
