How intense is rocknroller coaster?

Great, smooth coaster with no big drops. In my opinion, much less intense than EE and SM. And having Aerosmith blasting through the entire thing is a huge plus!

No drops - my 2 non-coaster guys survived it to once.

My 69 yr old father loved coasters and did everything, loving them all. Then he rode RnR and was so badly beat up his back and neck hurt for the next few days. We were front row too! I think with the dark, he wasn't able to brace himself so well and just kept getting jarred.

I think your child will do great with it - especially with no big drops.

So my 6yo is 49 inches high (meets the height requirement), and loves all of the coasters at MK. Her favorites in all of WDW are Space Mtn and Test Track.

I haven't rode rocknroller coaster in many years-

I think she would be fine with the dark, speed and the inversions, but she doesn't love big drops-

Are there big drops?

Would you say that it is more or less intense than Everest? (I'm more familiar with that one)

No big drops, but the staging area is a bit creepy, with fencing & an urban jungle look. Then you have to get shoulder harnessed in & wait your turn, and the ride takes off at what feels like gunshot speed.

After that, the ride itself is smooth & quick.

She doesn't do well with big drops- that was my big concern because the WDW site describes "big drops" but I don't really remember

I personally find RNR more intense than EE. I have back issues that sometimes flare up from time to time and RNR is the only ride at WDW that bothers me. Which is a shame because I really enjoyed the ride. I'm not sure what does it and I may try it again on my next trip. It's generally a smooth ride with no real big drops, but since it's in the dark you don't see what's coming. It does go upside down.

No big drops. It's intense, though. I have a FP for it and will do it this coming trip. But once only. LOL.
My kids really like it and DS did it at 7 and enjoyed it. Of course, I was a bad mom and said "no" when he asked if it went upside down, because I knew he would refuse to go if he knew it did go upside down and I was sure he would like it.
I still hear about that occasionally and he is 14 now. Hehe.

One thing to remember with a "catapult launch" is to keep your head back against the headrest when the ride starts. That way, your head doesn't snap back and your neck won't hurt.

I would say it's a tad less intense than Everest - the backwards part of that one really does a number on me!

Wow, and I was going to say it's WAY more intense than Everest! So funny how different people's perceptions are.

That takeoff alone…on a scale of 1 to 10, is a 30!

Yup, I did that!
Didn't matter. I am pretty petite so the restraint didn't hold me tight, my head still jostled. Super fun ride though lol

WAYYY more intense than EE to me. I could ride EE all day long, but the take-off on RnR does me in. It gives me the same feeling in my stomach that a big drop does, even though you are always positive G. I like all parts AFTER the launch, though!

RnR is my favorite ride in WDW. I have to say that the takeoff, while awesome, isn't all that big of a deal to me. I'm used to it and as someone who loves really fast cars (and has owned many), it's a sensation I'm used to.

RnR doesn't have big drops in the way that an outdoor 150' tall coaster does. But it does have one or two "sudden" drops that can take you by surprise. Remember, the ride is dark and does a lot of circling around on itself. There's at least one part that drops suddenly. Doesn't last all that long, but it's a drop. IIRC, it's between the 2nd and 3rd inversion??

I find the take off really intense, but other than that I agree with others that EE is way more intense overall (and a better ride, IMO).

I can only ride EE once - I did two times in a row one time when it was a walk on for single riders, and boy did I regret it!!
