I was wondering how impressed are you with it so far?
To all of you who just got back what do you think of it?
From the pictures it looks rather small, how big does it look in person, do you think it's small?

THANKS!!!

We last seen it this past fall and I was pretty impressed. Even then it was starting to take some form. I think it's going to be a little to "thrilling" for me though.

It looks pretty "thrilling", tracks are steep, and it looks like it will be high speed.

The structure dominates the AK skyline -- I took pictures on the bridge leading from Discovery Island to Africa and it looked huge. It was even more dominating when I took the photos from within Asia itself.

I agree with everyone upthread--big and speedy looking! Can't wait! (and I'm a big chicken type!) Can't wait to see it "mountainized". It's gonna look awesome.

I think it looks great, definitely seems thrilling and intense. I thought it looked small as well until I saw it last week in person. It has become a huge structure. It seems much bigger than BTMRR, SM, or any other structure the Imagineers have created.

Can't wait....!

Looking foward to it, but from what I've seen (photos, and in person) it seems to be a very short experience. Hope I'm wrong.

Agree that it looks pretty big and "speedy looking". Unfortunately for me, yet another Disney attraction that I probably won't ride. Shoud please a lot of the thrill seekers tho---

Its looking good to me. Maybe now my husband will join me at AK. DH and DS are not big fans of AK. Nothing thrilling enough at the moment for them.
Me, I am happy to wander round looking at animals and riding KMJ safaris.

i think it will be like the Atlantis ride at Seaworld from what I saw of it, they were just starting to put the "rocks" on when we were there in November.

I am looking forward to our next trip to go on this one though!

The highest peak will be 199 ft, which is the same height as Tower of Terror. I'd say it will be very impressive once completed.

Expedition Everest is the reason I'm waiting to go to Animal Kingdom. I can't wait for it to open in 2006. I was on rcdb.com and found out that the drop will be 80 ft. The roller coaster will travel at 50 mph & go both forwards and backwards.

:earseek: Can't wait! The Phantom's Revenge at Kennywood (Pittsburgh) has a hill about that high, it's awesome!

The mountain peak will be that tall. The actual drop will be 80 ft. It will go forward and backwards on the tracks, and nothing at all like Atlantis at SeaWorld, as it is not a "flumecoaster".

Doesn't look small at all. I've seen it from the back side as well...it takes up quite a bit of land space, and it's very high.

It looks huge to us. And when we were on the roof of the Wilderness Lodge as Flag Family, we could see it clearly, while the Tree of Life looked liked a shrub from there.

I was just at AK in December, and Everest definitely caught my attention. It was towering over the park. It seemed as if the track are at steep steep angles. Gave me chills at the thought of the ride itself, let alone the wonderful themeing of the ride. I felt dinky standing outside of the wall looking up at the tower as the crew worked on it. I cant wait till its a true addition to the park.

It seems to be another impressive thrill ride again.I just wish disney could learn to stay to the theme of their parks...hey we a empty spot it must be time for another thrill ride...not something to do with animals.Sorry i just miss the days when disney built more family rides.
