How important is it to YOU to stay on property?

Staying onsite is very important to us. We stayed offsite once, the first time we went to WDW. You lose a lot of the magic when having to commute first thing in the morning, traffic is a lot worse now (first time was in 1983). It is so much more relaxing to stay onsite and use the Disney transportation, we wouldn't do it any other way now.

During a Christmas stay, it's very important to me to stay onsite, other than that, it's not that important. My focus is saving money for our retirement, etc., so I go for clean, safe, and inexpensive.

:earsboy:

Having stayed both off-site and on-site, it is very important to me. I like the convenience of the Disney tansportation. To me, nothing is worse than having to find a parking spot, taking the tram, then having to take a monorail or ferry to get into the Magic Kingdom.

Also, I like the Disney resorts. I like the theming, as it adds even more Disney to my vacation. IT's not as though I get to be at WDW 24/7, so I like to get as much of it as possible when I'm there.

22 years ago, I traveled to WDW with a friend and stayed off-site. I remember how tired we were driving back to the hotel at night, and vowed never to stay off-site again. Of course, back then we did not have the interenet to help plan vacations and probably could have picked a better choice with a little more effort. I was only 19 then and didn't know too much about trip planning!

It was quite a few years before I got back to WDW, but now travel to WDW about once a year with my own family. We have always stayed on-site, and I couldn't imagine it any other way. To us, the hotel is as much a part of the vacation as the parks; it is not simply a place to sleep (again, that is just for us). I love the theming, convenience, and overall feeling you get from staying at Disney. I like being able to hit the parks in the morning for a few hours, go back to the hotel to swim/relax, then head off again in the evening. I don't think we'll ever stay off-site.

I have only been to Disney once,this past September. We stayed at the AS Sports and absolutely loved the convenience that staying onsite brings. I have looked into staying offsite in the Downtown Disney area but keep coming back to onsite. I love the fact that you have someone to drive you wherever you want to go. Relying upon Disney buses for your transportation needs is just a little part of Disney magic. Staying onsite is magical.

I didnt stay onsite when I lived there, but there was really no need- ever (even with resident discounts during busy seasons). Kissimmee was still all farms and cow fields at that point in time, and it just never got crazy packed like it does these days.

Now I would never stay offsite. There are just too many advantages to being onsite- with the travel time savings and EMH opportunities at the top of the list. Add in the Disney magic and there is no reason to be offsite.

We have never stayed off site & never will. With a wide selection of resorts there is no need to. We use Disney transportation the whole time. Considering
my husband & I can get lost in our backyard-this is a good thing!! :cool1:

If I can't stay on-property, I don't want to go. I will stay at a Value resort but I will not stay off property.

I have done both and enjoyed both. My parents have an time share at Orange lake country club, could not be beat since I di not have to pay, also 3 bedrooms is so nice to spread out. We have also stayed at a Marriott timeshare across from Disney did not have to pay once again and the room was appreciated. 2 years ago we rented a villa in Emerald Island community for 800.00 for the week (5 BR). Carribean is only on site we have stayed at and now Poly coming up this year (yeah!). We have also stayed at Hard Rock and Royal Pacific when going to the Universal Parks (express pass nice!!) I would love to stay on site all the time but just can't afford it year after year. I still do feel like I'm in the center of the Magic even when off site

Done both -- Offsite = :crazy2: Onsite = ::yes::
We're going back next month -- staying onsite obviously :rotfl: and counting the minutes! :cloud9:

I stayed in kissimee once. I would never go and not stay in a Disney resort ever again. It really does take some of the magic out of your experience.

I love to stay onsite. Its the whole atmosphere that I really love! I wouldn't want to ever stay offsite if I could help it!
