How awesome that you got to meet an opening day CM! I think I would have wanted to invite him to dine with us just to hear all of his stories!
Katie looks beautiful in her dress
You know, sometimes you just need a day to chill and relax. I think your last day at BC was perfect! I've decided that next time we go to WDW I want it to be for a minimum of 10 nights, that way we can have some down time and still have enough park time that we don't feel like we miss out on our favorites
Hey Michelle! It was a complete and total surprise to meet an opening day CM. And such an honor. He completely knew how awestruck I was...I was hanging onto his every word.
You are right about the longer trips...they do allow you to take more downtime. However, the flipside (as I discovered this trip), is that it sometimes lulls you into a false sense that you have loads and loads of time and before you know it, the trip is at an end.
In an ideal word (with unlimitless time and money), I would like to vacation at WDW for an entire month. Wouldn't that be awesome?!!! And I bet there would still be things you wouldn't cross off your list.
What a fabulous update! I loved this one. First off, we are eating at Narcoossee's for our upcoming trip too. Thanks again for the great review! Honestly, we must have the same ADR taste because you ate at nearly all the places we are planning to eat in 2 weeks!

And we're staying at the GF too!

It's seriously my favorite resort, not at all stuffy and snobby like people think.
I am so happy that your last day at the BC was so darn magical! And it was because you were swimming in the pool yet again! I laughed at that because that would be like heaven for my kids! How special though that the Princess and the Frog was playing (we loved that movie) and then Illuminations. Sometimes it isn't all about running around the parks, right? What a darling memory Katie and Declan gave you!
This picture is adorable

, I love her sweet outfit and that she has her American Girl with her! DD7 is debating which one she wants to bring to Disney.

You captured some really great pics of your kids at the GF!
Sounds like you have a pretty special trip lined up! I don't think you can go wrong dining at the signature dining places we covered. Every night it was another great meal and experience. To be completely honest, I look forward to the meals more than anything else on the trip!
By the end of that last day at the Beach Club I am sure we all looked like prunes with all of the swimming we did that day. But it really was the best way we could have spent our final day there. Everyone was happy.
You have given me another idea for dinner ADRs. I added two more days to my trip just so I could try more places to eat. Shh, I really wanted a couple of days to recover from the GDs.

A couple of adult-only days at the end of your trip certainly won't hurt you...especially if you spend them eating in some fantastic restaurants!
Katie's outfit is beautiful! I love that her AG doll matches her! The picture of Chris holding the doll is too funny.
We're eating at Narcossee's in August and absolutely can't wait! All of your food looks delicious-- especially those PEI mussels and the surf and turf. Yum!
I'm so glad your second to last night was so magical! The idea of swimming and playing and being able to watch/hear The Princess and the Frog (one of our favorites!) just sounds so wonderful!
Thanks!

Yes...it really was a magical night. It is so true that the unplanned moments, and what tend to be the simplest moments at that, are sometimes what ends up making the trip.
What a special meal at Narcoosee's. I agree that it was a perfect ending to a perfect day... with a lot of pool time!

My dd has a dress similar to Katiem but I have never seen a matching doll dress. Where ever did you find it?
Back to a previous comment- Your upgraded lens is amazing! I have an older rebel and have been looking into getting a new lens. After seeing your shots - I think it's time!
Are you really, really sure that you want more info on the pettiskirts? Because they are really, really addicting......OK...you asked for it. Don't say I didn't warn you!

As for my new lens, what I like about it is that it has a great zoom. Besides my kit lens, the only other lens I bought at first was a 55mm lens. Great lens (and only about $100), but it was difficult to use with subjects on the move (like my kids!) so it wasn't the best option for me. As a result, I ended up still using the kit lens most of the time because I missed the zoom so much.
I love the versatility of my new lens because it has zoom. Many people call it the "lazy man's" lens because you do give up something in sharpness and quality with the zoom. But for my "mom photography" purposes, I am completely fine with that. The zoom has saved me thousands of times by allowing me to get shots I would not have been able to take with a fixed lens.
But unfortunately, the photos in this TR don't really show what this lens can do. I didn't discover until after I arrived back home that the focus setting was off on my camera for most of the trip. Chris mentioned it to me when he took the handful of photos that he did during the trip and I completely dismissed it. Well, what do you know...he was absolutely right. That is why a large chunk of my photos are not clear and crisp.
lovely update, sounded like a perfect WDW evening!
Thank you for all the wonderful photos of the Grand Floridian.. it's got me (even more) excited to stay there on our honeymoon!

Wow Emma!!! I have to get all caught up again on things with you...I didn't know you had a trip to the GF planned. And a honeymoon trip at that!

Yay! And congrats! I can't imagine a nicer place to be to savour, rehash and enjoy all of those wonderful wedding memories and start your new life together.
