Baltimore, MD reached 102 degrees with a heat index (factoring humidity) of 113!

Reminds me of my trip to Tuscon to visit my lil sister some years ago...she neglected to tell me she had no ac, just a "swamp cooler." I wasn't sure I'd make it out alive!

We're about 30 mi. north of Baltimore and it sure was hot yesterday. The worst I can ever remember. I think it's supposed to be cooler today - only in the high 90's

I'm seeing 84 right now (10:10am) here in Central Florida. It's probably the hottest summer in the five years I've been here (following the coldest winter), but you kind of get used to it... kind of. Still, it's been hotter up North on many days and we'll soon have really nice weather again. In the meantime, we'll just grab a shady bench at WDW and watch the tourists sweat...

We have a heat advisory today. My biggest issue in all this is that schools start here in about 10 days. We will be having heat advisories and Code Orange smog days through, at least, mid August. The bozos that decided school should start the first of August should be sat out in the hot sun for an afternoon with NO WATER!!

It's about 80 and sunny. We were finally able to open our windows after having the air on for so long. It is a welcome change from the crazy rain/flooding we had the other day...it's nice to see the sun shining!

After another hot steamy day yesterday, I'm not sure it reached 100 but it was darn close, We got hammered by rain. I was out on the porch watching the storm blow in. The lightning was incredible! At about 10 it finally hit us.. WOW. The wind was amazing! I had candles and all the stuff ready just in case we lost power. It went on most of the night. I finally fell asleep at around 2 and it was still pouring and lightning like crazy.. not much thunder though? I looked out back this morning and our neighbors gazebo was ripped to shreds! All of the kids toys are blown over... I'm so glad we got rain. Our grass is crunchy.

It's finally "cooled" off and we are supposed to have a high of 87 but the dewpoints are still pretty high so it still feels hotter.

Atlanta expects a heat index of 110 today. The humidity is horrible. I'm not sure what a heat index is but my car read 100 degrees

O M G ... we had a thunderstorm a couple of hours ago and now it's 72 degrees ... it feels soooo nice in comparison to the 90+ degree temperatures we've been having ... I really hope it stays like this for awhile ...

98 in Memphis today, with a heat index of 109....makes me wish my car had air conditioning!

Ended up with a heat index of 104 just south of Atlanta today. My poor AC is set at 77, but for several hours it has flipped back and forth between 78 and 77. I want cool weather now!
