How hot is August?

I would say hotter than July. :sunny: The humidity is horrible.
Bring the Mister fans and brita water bottles and you should fine.
I also duck into air conditioning whenever I see it.

Also Tevas sandals, best advice I received from Disboards! :cool1:

It is very hot and humid in August but it's when we go every year and we deal with it. It's just as hot right now here in NJ so it's no big deal for us.

one of the best things I have ever heard for the little ones is to take a light colored towel to put in the stroller if the lining of the seat area is a dark color...I would think this would help them immensely in reflecting some of that hot Floida sun...now if only I remember one for my kids! :teeth:

2 words - WATER PARKS :teeth:

We're going the week before Labor Day (did this in 2002 also). We'll be hitting BB and TL the week we're there. Maybe we'll see you

HOLY SMOKES!!! The August weather was extremely uncomfortable!! But I didn't want to have a bad time on our vacation so I tried to phase it out! It Worked for the most part but WOW, humid, sticky, sweaty, rainy. So weird such a range of weather. We Flew in from CA last year the day Hurricane Charley was just passing Orlando. All day Friday was wondering if I was going to have to cancel the trip. Aug = very humid and hot!!

Amy 1976, we're going to be there the exact same dates as you! It looks like you are staying at VWL? That's where we were going to stay but we switched over to BCV's (we love VWL but had never stayed at BC so wanted to try something new). Anyway, we've been in August before and frankly I didn't find it unbearable. But we always go early to the parks, head back to the resort around/after lunch to swim and then go back to the parks at night. This trip my mom is coming with us so we are taking it EXTRA easy. We were just there in May/June so we don't feel like we have to do a lot or see a lot, plan on goin' with the flow! I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't rain a lot like it did on our trip in June. I want to be able to hang out and enjoy the pool & sunshine (hopefully :sunny: ) Hope you have a great trip! :wave2:

The reason that we request a balcony when we go in August is that we cook bacon and eggs on the concrete in the morning. Is that hot enough for you? Yes, it is very hot but we have always found it manageable. :rolleyes1

we went in the end of august once near labor day, it was awful, so hot & muggy, rainy & i got sick, never again. we like to go in november, january & march now.

That is so depressing for those of us who are going at that time this year (Aug 28-Sept 3 ASSp)

For the last 3 years we have spent 2 weeks in August in Fla. and every year I say I'm not going back in August, but yet I will be there this August from the 9th till the 25th :confused3 Its HOT. I walk through the parks wishing I weighed 90lbs and was totally naked! :rolleyes1 But convience wise, its when we've gotta go. Bring a facecloth with you to clean yourself off, and budget in the gallons of water you will drink!

Allie&Mattsmom..we wanted to stay at BWV or BCV but couldn't get a room. We have stayed at VWL before and loved it but so wanted to try the other resorts. When did you switch? We probably can't anyway because we need a 2 bedroom and a studio. Oh well..next time.

Thanks for all the insight and advice everyone.
