How hot & crowded will it really be???

This year I was planning for a early to mid June trip... but the Villa I really want isn't available for my exact dates..I'm still hoping I can work something out for an slightly earlier trip. But if not she does have 7/1-7/10 open.. how hot & crowded will it REALLY be? Or I'm I just delusional in thinking two or three weeks earlier would be that much different?! I usually go in Oct/Nov so I'm clueless as to what I'm getting myself into!

ETA: I JUST realized that it'll be over the Fourth of July (duh blonde moment!) It'll be MOBBED won't it?!

We're in a very similar boat - for us it is family that is driving the 4th of July dates. My BIL and his family won a school fundraising auction with the dates already chosen and they asked if we could meet them there...um, well, OK...how could we say no when we haven't seen them in many years, live literally on opposite coasts of the country, go so frequently to WDW, and had been thinking about going in May????

Anyway, after posting here a couple of months ago and subscribing to Tour Guide Mike...and exchanging an e-mail with him asking "are we insane?!?!?!" I'm feeling a lot better about going. My expectations are low so hopefully I'm setting myself up for a trip to exceed my expectations! We're usually not itinerary people but I think we need to be to pull this off. BTW, we usually go in the Sept/Oct?nov time frame too, so this will be way different. I'm really impressed with TGM's site and service so far, but I guess the proof will be "in the pudding".

I'm interested to hear what others have to say...especially folks with 4th of July experience!

I actually have a few options right now.. I really leaning towards one that I posted about back on the "Orlando Attractions..." board. The dates weren't perfect so I'm going to have to wait until Monday when I can talk to my boss.. .she's off that week too.

I avoid these times of the year, too crowded for me.

It will be hot and crowded, but hey, it will still be WDW We have been at other crowded times, like Christmas and Easter, and we have been at hot times, and a day at WDW still beats a day at home (or work!) As far as the heat, take breaks, swim a lot, see the shows with A/C, ect. As far as the crowds, use FP and skip anything that is crazy crowded. If this was a once-in-a-lifetime trip I would feel sorry for you. The way I see it, we do not HAVE to see every show and ride every ride EVERYTIME we go to WDW, we know we will be back in a year or so, so we will just catch stuff next time. KWIM??? Visit some of the resorts you have never seen and try some new restaurants! Have you seen Cirque? Awesome, worth the money, and great A/C!

Well due to my husband's work obligations- we can only go during 4th of July week. We have done it every year for years.... Yes it is hot and it is crowded- but if you go early take mid day breaks you will be fine. The great part about going then is the park hours are so looooooong! You have so much time to enjoy the parks I can't imagine going at a time when the parks close at 8.

We went this past June and the weather was hot and humid but we were prepared. However, some in our group were wearing blue jean shorts and black t-shirts and they did not deal well with the heat. A big no-no is heavy material and dark colors!!! Make sure you wear lightweight material. Buy the squirter fans before you go -- very useful. Be sure to go back to the resort during the hottest part of the day.
