How HOT at VB and/or HHI in the summer months?

I owuld LOVE to do our 2004 family summer vacation at either VB or HHI, but my husband is afraid that it will be so hot that we won't want to go outside. How hot is it at these 2 locations in the summer months?

We've been to both in May, and the heat was bad. We always stayed near a pool so it was bearable, but I would have been unhappy trying to do anything else. Summer has to be worse, especially when the humidity kicks in.

...where inland (WDW) does not. Haven't been to HH at all yet, but expect frequent showers in summer months in FL.

At least with VB and HH, as opposed to WDW, you have water (pool & ocean) for your main attractions. Yes, it's hot, and yes, it IS humid, but vacation weather can be a crap-shoot anywhere, anytime.

I went to FL in the summer for the very first time last year, and figured I'd never do it again. Well, we're doing it again this year!!!. As it happened, it was hotter in NH than in FL while were were on vacation last year!

We did Vero last August and are going again this August. It is hot - but breezy. We spent all day in the ocean and pool. The evenings were balmy too. We would head back to the room occassionaly just to take a break from the sun.

July at HH is hot & humid. When we walk outside in the AM, we have been instantly damp/wet with sweat. Makes it really easy to sit by the pool or beach to cool off. We love July at HH.

Vero is hot and humid. As already mentioned, it isn't too bad at the resort because you are right at the ocean's edge and do get sea breezes. But, if you travel inland, like to go shopping, you'll be frying eggs on the sidewalk. Of course, it sometimes gets like that here in CT. But, it is a more intense heat. Sunscreen will be an absolute must no matter what you are doing.

We were at HHI inJuly last year and it was hot and humid everyday! The main resort pool was luck bathwater by afternoon. We found the ocean refreshing and the beach house pool a bit cooler. We did have a great time , but it is HOT! We expected to cool off after dark, but it doesn't happen! Of course we ould return in a heart beat.

Just remind your husband that the hotter it gets, is directly proportional to the number of women wearing bikinis.

We just got back from HH and the temps and humidity was very manageable. It was in the mid to upper 80's each day, the pools stayed cool, and it seemed to only get really humid in the late evening (9 o'clockish) and early morning (before 8am). There was always a breeze at the ocean the the beach house seemed to be breezier than the main resort. This was also true when we were there in August '01. That trip was EXTREMELY hot and humid - 100+ each day. Still had a great time though and if you are planning on being at the beach or pool, you will have no problem staying cool.

The beach and the pool are great, with the ocean breeze. At noon till 3, you can always take a break from the pool for a nice nap and get out of the sun, and head back in the afternoon/evening. Our school schedule pushes us toward summers, Christmas and Spring breaks. We enjoy our summer trips to Vero, without any problem. Sometimes, those misters with fans can be a very nice addition nad help cool one off.
