How hot are we talking?

We have been the past 2 summers in August because of free dining and to be perfectly honest the first year I found it very hot but last year very comfortable and the temps were pretty much the same. I think because I knew what to expect. I personally like the fact that it is guaranteed heat (in Nov one year it was too cool to swim), packing is very light (no pants or long sleeves) and the parks are open late. With the exception of AK, you are in and out of a/c all day it really isn't that bad. Plus, it's hard to ignore free dining!

In my opinion it's always hot during the summer in FL. We've gone the 1st week in June, 2nd week in August and 2nd week in September and it was always hot. I don't think it matters when you go just as long as you go with the mind that it's going to be hot.

My sentiments exactly!

We have been several times in August. I do not recommend going in the summer. It is unbearable. I find myself getting very irritable and not enjoying the parks. We are running from attraction to attraction just to get out of the heat. I like to enjoy walking around the parks, sitting on a bench and people watching or just standing in line without melting.

Don't forget about August being hurrican season. I have been to WDW during a hurricane and I don't want to experience it again.

When you are not at the parks and are going to somewhere nice (and you look nice) by the time you get to your destination your makeup has melted away and you have pit stains on your shirt. Not my idea of fun. However, if you can't go any other time you can always make it work.

If you go in August - buy little battery operated fans for everybody in your party before you leave.

Thanks to everyone for your help.I am still undecided as to what I'm going to do however at least now I know how hot ,hot actually is.
I have a choice to make and it is mine alone as my DH is no help at all.All he wants to know is where and when he needs to be ready. He's paying for it and he trust whatever I should decide to do.
Being that I have already gone in June and I know what to except as far as weather goes we will more then likey go again at that time.Unless they do offer the free dinning then I will just change my reservation.
I can do that ,can't I ? :confused3
Oh god here I go again, lol. :rotfl:

I was there last year from Sept 15 through the 27. Most days were hot, but bearable. Because of hurricane season, the humidity is quite a bit higher and I had some trouble adjusting to it for a couple of days (I have asthma).
After I was acclimated, I didn't have any trouble staying in the parks all day and frequently did so.
I have to agree with other posters about AK however. Far too few a/c places. But the biggest problem I noticed was the humidity from the misting and watering systems being on constantly. I finally had to leave the park around noon because I couldn't take the humidity any more. As a result of this, I never went back to AK again which is a shame because it is a beautiful park.
Now will I go back again in September? Yes, it's already planned for 2007. :cool1: For me, it is a great time to go because the crowds are low and I don't have to wait in long lines. Also, the prices are lower, so I save money.

it does get kinda hot 90s but what bothers me more is the humidity i just moved from arizona here to florida and its the humidity that gets me more than the heat.
I moved from Utah to Louisiana seven years ago and I still haven't adjusted to the humidity. I miss the desert. :guilty:

I would never, ever, ever, EVER go to Disney in the summer because I just loathe humidity. But some people may like it. Everybody's different.

The one good thing about the humidity is.... it's great for the complexion! :goodvibes My skin never feels as good as when I'm in Florida! Let those people have their desert. I would look like a raisin if it weren't for humidity! :rotfl:
