How horrible is Memorial Weekend?

Last year, the Saturday and Sunday really weren't bad, considering that it was a 3 day weekend. We were pleasantly surprised. Then on Monday, the crowds picked up noticeably. Do your research on MP, or at least on FP, have some sort of plan (and a back up plan, too), then be ready to have a great time!
Will do. We usually have 4 days in the parks, so a one day trip will take some maneuvering. I'm thinking MaxPass will be our saving grace.

We were there at peak crazy time in December (12/28 and 12/29) and, with MaxPass, we did everything we wanted to do - many things twice, and we never waited longer than 20 minutes unless we chose to (i.e. "Well, we don't have anything planned for the next hour. Soarin' is posted at 50 minutes. Let's do that!"). Crowds didn't slow us down at all.

Is it packed has it as Hey it's alright, so that's fine for me!

Even with 90 minute wait times to pull another FP? That's what I'm worried about. We will want to get FP's for Radiator Springs and then Indy as our first two rides of the day. If RSR has a return time like 4 hours out then it really slows down our maxpass pulls. I read it was 90 minutes for rides with more than a 90 minute return. That woul dhave us pulling another FP at mid-morning for Indy. We may end up with regular FP's if there is really no difference other than having less walking to do. We don't mind walking.

Sorry for the questions, we are new to Maxpass.

With regular FP and MP you can pull a new FP after you've scanned your current pass, but it must be at least 30 minutes after you pulled the pass. No more instant back to back FP/MP. The benefit there is that you can pull your FP while in line if you pay for MP. Later in the day when return times start to be further and further our a regular FP would require that you wait 2 hours before pulling another FP. So if you pulled one at 1:00 for an 8:30 RSR you'd have to wait until 3:00 to pull your next FP. But if you have MP they have changed it to 90 minutes, so you'd only have to wait until 2:30.

Since I have MP on my pass but my DH and kids do not my tickets print out and say that I can pull a new FP earlier than they can.

Thanks for the clarification. So we are shaving off 30 minutes per pull by going with MP instead of traditional FP. That works for me. Every minute counts on a one-day trip.

Well, the first thing you do when you scan into the park is buy MP, then you get your first FP. It should have a pretty short return time - less than an hour, even for RSR. As soon as you scan in for your RSR FP, grab your Indy FP. I'd be surprised if your return time for it is later than 11:00 - I'd guess more like 10:00. Seriously - even though FPs ran out around 4:00 in the afternoon over Christmas, we still had a bunch all throughout the day and into evening. Don't forget the single rider line, too. It's pretty helpful!

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you're going onto Indy, GotG, Soarin' or any other lengthy ride in a cell-free bunker, DO NOT walk into the building after you've scanned in your FP UNTIL you've booked your next one. Otherwise, you'll sacrifice the 20+ minutes of ride experience time during which you won't be able to get another FP because of connectivity issues.

That is great to know about the connectivity issues. Thanks!

We definitely won't forget the single rider line. We do single rider at least a couple times a day for RSR.
