I remember the drop when we were on it in 2004. It seemed longer of a drop than when we were there in 1999. Did they increase the size of the drop?

How many feet is the drop on POC??

Does anyone know the exact height?

Thanks!!!!!:)

im sorry i dont have an exact height, but i would say 15 feet at the HIGHEST. its very tiny hahaha. :)

Thats a drop...I thought it was more of a gentle slide...there is nothing to it at all...If its a kid thing you are worried about my youngest is more afraid of the darkness and the cannon balls...each is different but the drop is barely noticeable..

just re-read your post...yeah the ride was revamped a couple years ago when the added all the stuff from the movies....but yeah its a new drop and a bit more than the original....I would say 10-15 ft....like the PP said...

The drop is 14 feet and according to a tour guide on the KTTK tour, the drop actually takes you under the Walt Disney World Railroad. She mentioned that sometime you can hear the train whistle as it pulls into the Splash Mt station.

It's not much to worry about :thumbsup2. It is a great ride anyways...both my DDs loved it.

Though i dont know the exact height of the drop, it is not much at all! There is only one, and if you need to brace for it, it's right in the beginning of the ride when you hear the "dead men tell no tales". Hold on, and have fun!!!! :thumbsup2

Wikipedia isn't always right, I've found mistakes on there. That's why many instructors/professors will not accept it as a source for a paper.

Where are you folks getting your information.

PoTC in WDW has always had a little drop. Maybe 14' in length but certainly not a 14' drop. It did not change during the rehab. That would have required completely revamping the ride system. It didn't happen. It's always been there, and the same as it was.

PoTC in Disneyland has two drops both larger than WDW's but I would really doubt the numbers listed. Again...length of the slop is possible but certainly not the downward difference. It is no where near the drop at Splash Mtn., not even close.

The WDW slope is gentle and over almost before it starts. Not anything to worry about.

I think the drop has changed since the update...It use to be slight you didnt notice...now it seems a bit more...not sure if its the theming/build up to it but something is different with the drop

I never even noticed there was a drop...and actually neither did my 2 yr old:laughing: Hmmm, my have to pay more attention next time.
