How heavy is your turkey?

I will be dragging our 22 pound bird out of the freezer tonight! We're feeding 12 and hopefully we'll have leftovers this Thanskgiving! :cool1:

I did a 9 pound turkey breast last weekend - there were three of us. Plenty for Thanksgiving Day (for both lunch and dinner) and leftovers for DD12 and I throughout the week. I had the last turkey sandwich on Thursday!!!

I'd never done a turkey breast before, and it was so easy and good!!! I bought a fresh one, so I didn't had to worry about defrosting. 20 minutes per pound at 350 degrees - it was done (by both my meat thermometer and the pop-up in the bird) in exactly three hours. Delicious!!!!

I think I'll do a turkey breast more often - we all love turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce, and it really would be an easy meal to snack on for days.

18 lbs. and there are sure to be leftovers!!!! :thumbsup2

12 pounds and 6 people eating. There are three very hungry men going to be here, so we are going to add a ham to it!

We got a 19 pounder for 8 people. (A few are big eaters, and we send some home with the kids). And a 10 pounder for "insurance"--this is the one day of the year that I cook, and after all that work, I WILL have leftovers! :smooth:

We bought a turkey from a 4-H kid at the fair this year. It cost us around $500. (advertising opportunities and helping the community & kids!)

Anyway, I think that thing weighed in around 38lbs walking around in his pen! He could barely hold himself up!

I have no idea what he weighs dressed and all but he barely fit in my freezer, and he'll barely fit in my roasting pan! I don't know what we'll do with him!

My employer gave us a 14 pounder, and I think we are going to buy a turkey breast too, to add to it. We are having 13 for dinner.

Oh, man...and you're gonna eat him?!? I would have named him and knitted him a sweater. :teeth: I can't eat something that I met when it was still alive. I feel that I should be a vegetarian but I would miss prime rib too much. :rotfl:

I'm so excited that I found an 11 pound bird! Usually when the turkey sales come out they only have 16+ pound birds. 11 pounds will be perfect for the four of us for dinner, leftovers/sandwiches, and soup.

Just bought ours today! 13.21 pound Butterball for the three of us. Should have tons and tons for leftovers! :thumbsup2

About 190 currently. He just dropped a couple of pounds recently ;)
Kidding!! Going to the BILS :cheer2:

We have a 12 lb. turkey this year. Perfect for 6 people and leftovers for sandwiches and soup. I'm so looking forward to eating roasted turkey from our oven. I usually buy deli turkey for sandwiches during the year, but I miss the real deal.
