How have the rains been lately?

We're heading out to WDW next weekend and I was wondering whether it has been raining every afternoon? If so, around what time does it start? And about how long does it typically last?

I just want to get a general idea so I can plan around what time to take our afternoon breaks.

Also, when it rains, is Festival of Fantasy parade simply cancelled?

TIA as always.

We were there on Wednesday and Thursday, and it didn't rain at all. But that means nothing in terms of planning your trip in a week. In FL, it going to rain when it's going to rain. Honestly, I'd download a good weather app and check the 12-hour forecast each morning, the one that gives hour-by-hour predictions. Plan your break around that. Generally, there is less likelihood of rain in the morning, so plan your FPs to be done by 12 or 1. Then, you can head out anytime thereafter. You may find that it's not the rain but the heat that drives you out in the afternoon. I'm a Floridian and have always dealt well with the heat, and I found it just brutal last week.

I am fairly used to the afternoon showers, they don't bother me much, but last summer much of our trip was a washout with hours and hours of heavy rains, and lightning. This summer, I hope, has not so far been a repeat of last years!

We had the same experience!! I do think last summer was atypical--hoping anyway!

I moved about 10 days ago 5 minutes behind MK,the days I've gone to the parks its only been for an hour or two around 5-6pm trying to avoid the 94-98 degree temps.I would say to look at the rain and storms as a blessing as they keep the temps down,I know yesterday it rained and afterwards we had some good cloud coverage keeping the heat in check but some of the days in the last week it didnt rain and was so hot I couldn't imagine being in the parks for most of the day.

Expect afternoon scattered showers around 2ish. But know it's scattered showers so while it could be pouring at MK, it could be bright and sunny with no rain in site at AK.

Afternoon showers this time of year usually are brief and blow over in about 30 min

We live here and yes, it does typically rain every afternoon. Actually, the past couple of days have been unusual for this time of year in that it didn't rain. Its also been a bit unusual in that the rain has been coming at various times between early afternoon to evening, whereas typically it happens in the 2-4 pm range. At any rate, typically the afternoon thunderstorms last 15-45 minutes.

Glad to see that reports are of the normal afternoon storms this summer. I can totally deal with that!

During our trip two weeks ago, there were daily afternoon thunderstorms. Typical & expected for summer. We had an awesome trip. Wear shoes that are not problematic when wet. That's as important as good sun protection at WDW in summer.
