How has the "refresh" method been working on LL?

Heading down first week of March for first time in nearly 2 years (so first trip since you could pre-book 3). On all my past trips - have been able to get nearly everything I wanted over the course of a day with the refresh method. It was rare I couldn't get something decent to pop up with 5-10 minutes of trying.

Are people who have been doing this recently having decent success if you know what you're doing?

I've had pretty good luck doing this with my party of 2 for both HS and MK this week. I didn't bother for AK or EP yet, so I can't comment in those parks.

Those are the two parks I'm most interested in anyway. With TT closed, the only "hard" one to get in Epcot is whichever I don't pre-book between Frozen and Remy and AK not sure if I'll make it to since only there a day and a half. Frankly if I go 1st priority may be the tiger cub!

For seeing Bakso, don't go first thing in the morning. We saw him around 1:15 pm yesterday and it wasn't that crowded. Cast members weren't enforcing any time limits either, but most guests were being respectful.

It works quite good most periods but if the park is very, very crowded on the day of your visit the selections are often reduced. Since you have not been since the LLMP rolled out this July make sure that you watch some of the LLMP YouTube videos so you understand the minor differences in the "Modify" process from Genie+ to LLMP.

Definitely - I've found a couple bloggers who do a great job with visuals on the current interface and best ways to do it (particularly how to do it in the way to minimize the common issue of seeing a time but then it being gone once you actually click on it).

Latest version app makes it harder to refresh book LLs that are at the Top of Tip Board via modification.

Yeah - when I say "refresh" I mean it in all forms. From the videos I've seen - booking something first and then refreshing through the modify option clearly seems the way to do it as opposed to trying to find better options first. From the comments so far - seems mixed reviews so will cross fingers that I'll have some good luck.

My sister and niece were at MK today, and refreshing did not get us far. I took charge of her peter pan res (in the past, I have always been able to get even this, which doesn’t have a lot of random drops, in about 20-30 minutes). I was at home in California drinking coffee and refreshing for them for an hour +. Only saw one notably earlier time and missed it.

It is not the same as G+, or even FP+.

1. IME, when you first book - at 7am before your trip, what you are first offered is prob best you will be offered. If you keep refreshing then, the times just seem to get worse. After saying yes, I was later able to bump a few times, but not much- like 5min here and there.

2. DAY of, in the parks, even when most Epcot waits were very short, there was not much available in the morning. (e.g. after using first pass).

For short wait attractions, I mostly don't bother. Just go from attraction to attraction. going around the parks with passes would have just meant extra walking.

During the day, the phantom pass times continue to be very annoying. It looks like a pass is available for 10:15am (or so) but when you try to book it, you get something very different. You can kinda just toggle back and forth between the later screens, and that sorta works to get better options....but not all that well. A few times- on a VERY slow week- I was able to get slightly better return times- like 20min better, but it is more of a pain than it was with FP+.

Compared to G+, I felt like there was a slightly better options when it came to PM passes. With G+ a lot of people booked PM passes out of the gate.

In Epcot, midday I just gave up the hassle of booking passes for 10min waits, and we did standby (except for FEA). It was easier to just do the short standby waits than bother booking the limited passes.

As with G+, often the best way to use it is simply to park hop at some point, maybe take an afternoon break. If you stay in 1 park, then your booking options get less with each pass you book. Only MK has enough attractions for a full day.

HS continues to be a mess, IMO. It just doesn't have enough attractions.

I was able to refresh and got prettty much everything on our Aug/Sep trip. There definitely was a learning curve in my part since some of the text was not very obvious (eg trying to book or modify for different parks). I didn’t feel like I was constantly on my phone. If we had a few minutes sitting or waiting in a queue I would check and see what I could find. Would I get LLMP again? Maybe…Bit going the time of year we typically visit is a much lower crowd season.

Staying offsite and going to Epcot tomorrow. I had a delay and couldn’t book LLs until 8:15 am for 3 adults at 3 days out.

My initial selections were ok - no Remy or Frozen but got Soarin’ at 10:00. From that point I tried to modify whenever I had a few moments. I was very successful doing this and got Remy at 10:15. Then modified Spaceship Earth from 3:00 to 11:30. I’d still like to get the Land moved from 12:30 to 9:00 but it hasn’t popped up yet. If not I’ll leave as is and we’ll do stand by for Frozen at 9:00. I have seen a lot of movement in tones available at 24-36 hours ahead.

I pulled every single non-show LL at HS the day of back in mid September by refreshing--we rope dropped MK on a party day with 3 rides prebooked for MK, intending to hop into HS. At busier times it will likely be a bit harder and require more refreshing but it's really not difficult, it's just that the process for "getting your foot in the door" as I used to call it (to avoid the dreaded clicking on a time that pops up only to see it vanish) is slightly different than it was with G+. I suspect a lot of people are getting got because they're still trying to do it like G+.

The biggest key is tapping in for your first ride ASAP. At park open or as close to it as humanly possible. We tapped in for Mad Tea Party at 7:55a and I pulled Slinky Dog after maybe 2 minutes of refreshing tops then modified Haunted Mansion into Tower of Terror. The only MK LL I prebooked that I actually used there was Tiana, after which we booked Rock n Roller Coaster. In the meantime we rode stuff at MK standby and watched shows. On the bus to HS I was able to back up RNRC and Tower to really good times back to back. Slinky I couldn't back up but I prefer it at night anyway so it was no big deal. Once there we were able to just keep rolling LLs until our break.

I think the best success is found in mixing standby with LLs, as it's always been. But also always have something booked, even if it's something absurd. It's much easier to refresh from the modify screen than just booking stuff outright.

we had mixed results with a party of 5 in January, we could usually move around our LL's unless they were the impacted tier 1's of the park. (I could get Minnie and Mickey RR just about whenever I needed but couldn't easily move slinky)

My initial selections were ok - no Remy or Frozen but got Soarin’ at 10:00.
For Epcot, the 3 tier 1 rides are: Remy, FEA, and Soarin'. Of those 3, Soarin' is often available when it comes time to pick a 4th pass, while Remy and FEA are harder to get as 4th pass options.

At 1pm today, FEA and Remy are not available, but Soarin' is available for 1:55pm.

So hopefully you got it as you 4th!
