Hi All!

I know they closed the park early last week. I wonder if they will refund some of the money for people that bought passes to co-inside with their length of stay? Does anyone know, just curious.

Also, was there any damage to WDW??

thanks!
Brunette

I have no idea. You could call WDW and ask them, though.

I'm not sure if they extended the deadline, but they were waiving all cancellation fees and penalties until August 15th. Since UPH tickets are ties to resorts, I'd have to assume that when the room was cancelled, so were the passes.

We just got back. there are a lot of trees down at the resorts and the golf courses. AT the MK on Sunday it look as if nothing was touch (must be the pixie dust). We were at the All Stars from Friday night until Sunday night (we moved there from our off-site timeshare since it had NO power and Disney did)

We were in the parks last friday. I have an annual pass so it didn't matter - but my nephew had a 7 day park hopper plus. The half day did not count against his hopper. So we actually got 7 1/2 days out of the pass.

For the UHP - disney recommended checking with the front desk at the hotels for an adjustment.

Hey all!

Thanks for all your replies! We are leaving this Thursday, I can't WAIT!!

So basically it looks like the MK wasn't really affected....and only a few trees were down....

Has the weather cooled down a tad...

It LOOKS LIKE WDW is REALLY DOING GOOD THINGS for people in need because of the Hurricane Charley disaster.

Here is a cut and paste from a link:

Two thumbs up!!

Things look pretty normal, but not a few trees are down. Lots and lots of trees are down. Today we were at Animal Kingdom. Even in the parks, if the trees did not effect the walking pathes they lay where they fell. When you are driving on Disney property there are trees down everywhere you look. It will take quite a while for the clean up.

Tip, if you are coming in 4 be aware that all exit signs still down. The ones that say "Epcot, this exit... MK, this exit...."

We were there during that time and didn't want to go to the parks on Friday in fear that Charley might gain in speed and arrive early.

My family had the UPH's and when I told the front desk why we didn't want to go to the parks, the CM went in the back, came out about 10 minutes later with 4 new UPH's for the one day that we didn't use. We have until 2013 to use that extra day.

I have to hand it to Disney for doing that. On the back of the UPH it says they don't have to give anything if they close the parks for any reason.

Having the parks open Friday morning seemed like an excellent way to improve sanity among the on-site guests, considering that all the gate revenue was foregone.

Another good reason to keep track of days used on a hopper pass yourself, in case the computers failed to delete 8/13/04 from everyone's usage records, and years later you go back asking how many days are left and the ticket agent says "none". (Or does wiping the day itself out of the data base remove that day from all hopper passes?)

This one day UPH offered to guests is an example of a one day hopper, this one admitting the guest to water parks and Disney Quest as well I suppose. The guest would not have to be staying on-site when using it.

Especailly with signs down, if you drive up to a park toll plaza by mistake, ask to be directed to a U-turn.
