Ok, I tried calling weeks ago and finally got a time that wouldn't twist are schedules around too much. Everything but ONE time was booked our entire trip. Got lucky with a much better time yesterday morning 7:40 AM. Anyway. lol.

Ok, we have PPP tickets for May 9th. Have a Chef Mickey's at 5:30PM. Hoping a 5 PM opens up. We will be driving. Do we take the monorail in once we are finished with dinner or use the walkway? Which would be quicker?

I want to eat at Chef Mickey's because of the Fab 5 and I hate Chip and Dale so LTT is not an option for me. lol.

Has anyone done anyhing like this? When can we expect to be in MK?
Thanks,
Amy

From the Contemporary the quickest way to get to the MK is to walk. Your problem may be parking. I think that you can park at the Contemporary to eat there but you cannot leave your car there while you go to the party. This means that you would have to park in the MK lot and take the monorail or Ferry over to the MK and then go to the Contemporary. We've eaten at Chef Mickey's before parties before and always enjoyed it. But we've always stayed on-site and used Disney transportation so I'm not absolutely positive about the parking. But I'm pretty sure it is reserved for hotel guests and those using the restaurants and you aren't supposed to park there and then go to a theme park.

We are staying at AKL. We just had horrible luck with buses on our first stay that we decided to drive our own car around. So you think we should take transportation in or a Taxi?

You can take your car and park in the MK lot. But our experience has been that anytime we are going to the MK we are better off using Disney transportation. If you take the bus from your hotel to the MK, it will drop you right near the MK gate. Then you can walk to the Contemporary. Then back to the MK. We find it much easier to be using Disney transport when we are leaving for the night, especially since we tend to stay until closing. If you park, you have to wait for a ferry/monorail back to the TTC. Then depending on where you parked you either have to hike to your car or wait for a tram to take you there. We find it easier just to take a bus back to our hotel. But I've seen other people swear they found it more efficient to park at the TTC and take the ferry or monorail.

I agree that I would use Disney transportation. We always use it and have never been dissatisfied, especially at the end of the day. One time (2006) we were off-site for a couple of days before our on-site trip and went to EPCOT, so we drove our car and parked. It took us 1 1/2 hours to get out of the parking lot at the end of the night! We decided then and there that we will always take the disney transportation. We figured that we would have been back to our room and in bed asleep before we got out of the parking lot.

Also, we have been to Chef Mickey's several times and Chip and Dale have been there. Just be prepared.

Have a great trip!

I had a 5:00 reservation at Chef Mickey's before a Christmas Party once. I thought we would have plenty of time to eat and get to the party by 7:00, but we barely made it there by 7:00.

I would guess you would most likely get there between 7:00 and 7:30 with a 5:30 reservation.

If you don't mind paying you can park in valet parking for an extended amount of time and head over to the park from CR. Depending on what time you got out will depend on the quickest way over for me... I'd say you could probably do the monorail. As a party of 2 we generally are out of Chef Mickey's within an hour, hour and a half at the most.

I hate to ask but, why in the world do you hate Chip and Dale?

They've just always been annoying to me. lol. I shouldn't have said that I hated them because that is a very strong word, but they do annoy me.

I think that Chip and Dale were featured a couple years ago but our no longer there. It is ok if they will be though. Thanks for the warning.

Thanks everyone for the help an advice.
