How hard to walk in to Le Cellier in Aug.?

I would think the odds of getting ressies while they are offering free dining is comparable to finding a needle in a haystack . It's always a good idea to start making ADRs as soon as you hit the 180 day mark-provided you can . I wish you the best of luck on your endeavour. If I were you, I would keep calling until your departure day. Circumstances change and people do cancel. The issues with Le Cellier are that it is widely popular and the restaurant is so small that they simply cannot fit everyone in who wants to eat there. I have always wanted to eat there, but never had the opportunity. I am looking forward to eating that Canadian Cheese soup for lunch in October.

Plus final deposits are coming due over the next few weeks for the free diners and folks will be cancelling so don't give up hope. Just keep callin'....

Wow we have an ADR at Le Cellier in October. I had been thinking about switching to some where else (actually came here to ask for suggestions, when I found this thread) I had no idea Le Cellier was so popular. I think I will stick with my Le Cellier ADR for October 12th!

The crazy thing is, crowds have been SO LOW the last two months that it's been easy to walk in.

My brother was up visiting us a couple weeks ago and mentioned how much he liked Le Cellier before. We said, what the hey, let's see if we can walk in. 11:50am, and we were seated in 5 minutes after walking in, for a party of 3.

It's been bizarrely quiet at the parks.

Edit: that said, I'm always the first person to say to make sure you make your PS well beforehand.

During free dining in 2006 we were talking to the CM at Le Cellier and she told us that that day they had had 3 separate parties of 4 seated as walkups. She had never seen that before. It's hard but not impossible. From personal experience, I've never been able to do it but it never hurts to ask! Good luck

Keep trying to check if there are cancellations about once a week before you go. Then if you still don't have one by your trip call in the morning while you're there and/or stop by if you're planning on being in Epcot that day. An odd lunch time as previously stated would probably be your best bet.

I have done this several times for other places and always got the restaurant I wanted - maybe not the time I wanted.

Just have a back-up CS in mind - At least there area lot of good ones at the WS.

You never know dont listen to what people say on here that it is impossible. nothing is impossible. Go to the rest. as early as you can get there and ask for dinner or lunch you might get one you might not.

You might want to put a "wanted ad" over on the Restaurant boards under the August ADR wanted/trade thread.

It's worth a shot, but I agree with everyone else that says you ought to have a backup plan because the likelihood of getting turned away is far higher than getting a table. Oh and be prepared for some smugness at the hosting stand. When we were there last August, we saw at least 5 parties get turned away while we were waiting for our table (we arrived a little early) and the hosting staff seemed to take enormous pleasure in telling people they were booked up until after New Year's. So much so that at least once they actually laughed at a person for trying to score a walk up after they left. As if they found the attempt foolish or something. It was a bit of a turn off.
