DH and I leave 9/16 for our our first WDW trip since around 1997. We're both really excited about seeing Fantasmic, but it is only showing one time per night we are there. How difficult is it to get in? Should we do a dinner package to make sure we get seats? We had only planned on one meal at MGM (at 50's Prime Time Cafe)...should we change it?

We were there Sept 1 Had dinner at H&V-not the package-on the dining plan and our waitress gave us a pass to to special seating area(Bonus). We used the pass got there about 30 min pre-show and there were lots of seats then. By 8:30(start of show) there were only a few seats left. I don't think you really need the package if you get there 30 min before the show. Not hard because a lot of things close early(8:30 was park closing)Backlot tours last show at 7:30 and Millionaire was finished for the day when we checked it out.

I suggest you get to the theatre at least 45 min. ahead of time to get a set. It gets pretty crowded. And definately worth the wait!

We saw the show last November. It was easy to get into. But getting out of the theather is difficult. Try to sit close to the exit. It took us from the middle of the theather about 30 minutes to exit, due to crowd levels and one way out. MY DS loves the show, but my DH wants to skip it this year for the exiting reason. Very impatient man. :confused3

If you get the package and come in the special way-you still exit with everyone else. We tried going out the same way we came in and they wouldn't let us. We went in to a couple shops to look around (this is probably what they want) since we hadn't done any shopping at that point. I think that crowd seem big because the street are narrow and have cars parked on them

Hi,

WE go all of the time. We will be there the same time as you. You won't need the package.

If you are just looking for a seat, anywhere, you can show up 15 minutes early.

If you want the seat of choice, go 30-45 minutes early.

This time of year it wont be busy.

Where is the exit at? Is in near the center section? Is just seems crazy to have only one entrance and exit for suc a large group of people.

We were just there a couple of weeks ago and got there about 25 mins before the show, got our pick of seats -just to the left of center 3rd row. When it was time to leave, we walked along the very front to the right of the theater and then went up. It didn't take too long to get out, the only problem is that it was the only showing and the show started at park closing so it's pretty much like a cattle walk from the theater to the front of the park (I sometimes moo'ed just for the fun of it). We walked through the nicely air conditioned stores (lots of them are connected to each other-Main St in MKs from Casey's to the front, all connected, air conditioned and traffic free).

The past two times we've gone to Fantasmic were both in mid August, which is a lot more crowded than September. This past year that we went, we got there later than we wanted to (only 35 minutes ahead of time) and were still able to get seats. I think the seats filled up about 10 minutes after we got seated. So I think you would have no problem if you just got there half an hour ahead of time.

We went twice and we only arrived about 15 min before the show and got good seats. We were not dead center but in the next section to the left as you face the "stage". We didn't have a problem with seeing anything. I am thinking about doing a dinner package this year since we are going to be there in Dec, but I may just wing it and go without the package about 20 min early this time and see what happens.
