How hard is it to get on the new FS rides at rope drop without HE?

I'm still working on a trip, I'm trying to decide if the VPs are really worth the high price. I'm curious how hard it would be to ride the new FS rides without HE. We'd likely be staying at the Disneyland hotel, so no HE for DisneySea. How early would we have to be at the gate to either rope drop these rides and get on fairly fast, or to get the Premier Access passes for these rides?

We'll likely do 3-4 days, so that would mean 2 DS days for sure.

Any thoughts on this for those of you that have been lately, would be greatly appreciated. Just trying to decide on whether we can save the money and just book hotel only and stay all nights at DLH or if we need to do at least one night at the Mira Costa. Right now, the MC doesn't have the room type we need available, so that's a big factor.

Before Frozen went down for maintenance, it was basically the only Premier Access that was kind of competitive. Peter Pan and Rapunzel are often available for hours on weekdays. A lot of hotels in the area have breakfast starting at 6:30 and if you're behind that crowd, Frozen has a risk of running out. So if you leave the hotel by 6:30, you'd be ahead of them.

When we visited in October 2024, they seemed to be opening the gates (at least for Happy Entry guests) around 8:30am or earlier as they would normally announce that the Frozen Premier Access tickets had "sold out" sometime between 8:45am and 9am. That may have been due to the popularity of Fantasy Springs back then, as access was still limited to those with Premier Access or Standby tickets.

There was a recent report of Frozen DPA selling out around 9:10. Even with standby access it’s still popular due to the line being long.

When I was there in December (staying at the Sheraton), we got in line at 5:45 am and got both a Standby pass and Priority pass for Frozen. Now that they've opened up Fantasy Springs and have the regular standby line going, I'm not sure how it's working.

I'll be there in a few weeks and can report back though! But I will have access to Happy Entry at TDS with my hotel stay this time.

Yes! I'd love to hear from you, if you can. I think FS opening up really changes it all.
